  • Know Your Enemy to me is one of there best albums i bought it just after hearing why so sad i love every track i really wish more people would get in to the manics very Underrated band i dont know why they are great

  • A metaphor for what the EU has become ...this song is so relevant at the moment - Nov 2011.

"So messed up, the world truns grey,

All washed up with debts to pay"

  • You guys are right, it is pretty hard to find Manics albums. I went to London and bought everything I could possibly find.

  • one brain dead motherfucker so far

  • That base -.-

  • brain-dead-mo-ther-fu-cker

    brain-dead-mother-fuckers

    brain-dead-mother-fuckers

    brain-dead-mother-fuckers

I just love the way that bit is so catchy in but so repetitive, flat and emotionless. It sums up the theme of the song perfectly.

  • Very Satirical.

  • should have been a single

  • I reckon someone should make a video of ann widdecombe in 'strictly' all her best bits and use this as the track. Oh those days before nicky became a braindead motherfucker himself!

  • best bassline by nicky.

  • This song doesn't need anything else, just a bunch of Braindead Motherfuckers to listen to it! And I'm fucking glad to be one of them!

  • The manic's were never about how their records sounded, there was always a darker message they wanted to get across. 'miss europa disco dancer' it sounds like Saturday night fever but its a critique of the European union. I still think design for life was a low point tho.

  • so fuckin awesome...... braindead motherfucker!!!

  • Belle symphonie, The Manics harmony.

  • I still have all my albums and rushed out to buy Journal for Plague Lovers. Once a Manics fan; always a Manics fan.

  • GЯOOVY

  • love it !!!

  • club remix? eh no! fuck number one status...this song is beautiful

  • If this should've been released as a single, a club remix should guarantee it Number One status!

  • nahh that would never work, it sounds too much like a parody to make an original sounding dance track, besides it sounds like lady (hear me tonight) by modjo

  • I think this song is a sarcastic take on the dance music scene and the people that are subject to it.Having said that I like dance music and the like but i am not a brain dead motherfucker. Its just a stereotype of some people ?

  • they should have just titled this "braindead motherfuckers."

  • I've struggled to find this, Gold against the soul & Lifeblood in the shops.

  • The Internet is your friend

  • Ha, but Internet credit card transactions are not!

  • well this album is quite good but in my opinion lifeblood is like a limp lettuce leaf and gats is pretty poor, aside from from despair to where which i love

  • Comment removed

  • havent heard this in a while, like it.

  • I disagree. "Brain Dead Mother Fuckers" makes the song. Best part!!

  • last part of the song spoils it. Also i've not seen this album in the music shops for the last 4 years. HMV and co have all of their other CD's

  • Buy it online then

  • I used to have this album, but after a while I got rid of it. I just wondered if it got banned or something (if i remember it is quite anti-American) or was it a limited edition? I have to say though I haven't heard of every Manics album but Know Your Enemy music wise was outstanding. And I thought This is my truth tell me yours wasn't very good and overrated - (in my opinion)

  • I have to say that I don't share your opinion about This Is My Truth. Anyway, I don't think Know Your Enemy was banned, it just wasn't very popular, and music shops have to sell a certain amount of an album per year in order for them to re-order the stock of that album. And I don't think the sales were high even when it was released, let alone nowadays, so I'm sure the shops just don't bother with it. I remember buying mine on Amazon.

  • i think it reached number 2 in england if i remember correctly

  • @NorthernHero097 this album was released shortly before 9/11 , so it sank without trace shortly after thanks to the men in suits.

  • i completely agree with you for some reason they have every manics album apart from know your enemy

  • Braindead motherfucker, braindead motherfucker...

  • cool song!

  • I love that song! It's quite different from the sound The Manics had been doing, but it's GREAT!!!!!
