Ugh I want this cause the only thing I don't like about the '93 version is that I can never hear what Sally is saying and I'll turn it up, then suddenly it's too loud!
What is the difference between the Special Edition and Collector's Edition? I was looking to buy it but didn't realize they came out with both of these. Wandering which to buy now..
@liz775 They did in theatres and they do it every year now, apparently. Now they have it in 4D in Hollywood. This was their first year doing this and I bet that they're going to do it next year too because it was packed. I know because I saw it when it first came out in 3D and 4D. BTW, if you get VIP tickets, you get free popcorn. However, they haven't put the 3D version on DVD yet.
I didn't see this til about a month ago, when my aunt bought me the Limited Collector's Set featuring Jack's bust. It was amazing and so funny. Its songs are phenomenal and their lyrics are very funny. The image quality is amazing!
@bigmommalover Just like MikeDV101 said, Touchstone was actually the film branch used for more "adult-themed" Disney movies. So it's a nice little fun fact!
I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!<3 i saw this movie for the first time about a week ago and loved it! and know it's coming back on DVD! I can own it now, so so happy <333333
I currently own the special edition dvd from the year 2000, that was a nice dvd because it featured a really nice transfer, DTS 5.1 Audio, and a handful of special features, what upsets me about this new release is how there is going to be no DTS 5.1 audio instead they are using a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. I will still buy it but I would have liked to have the DTS track.
It was released in theaters under the company Touchstone Pictures, which is a branch of Disney. Disney didn't want to touch the film because of how dark it was. But now they realize what a money boat it is so...DISNEY!
Disney has officially announced the DVD and Blu-Ray Disc. I sent you a message with the link to Disney's official site which has info on the release. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I'm happy to help.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Blu-ray should have included a DVD of the movie as well. Much like what they did with Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray.
