Well, everytime I played this game with the intro. I always feel bad about Hyrule, I kind of knew that something like this would happen in the Ocarina of Time Hyrule because Ganondorf *did* threaten to return as he was defeated by Link in that game.

i think the only reason why link never appeared the second time was because in majoras mask he entered that pit which was like a wormhole to another dimension which was termina, therefore at the end of majoras mask link was probably stuck in termina forever as the events of ganon's second coming were still at hand in hyrule, if this was an essay id probably get an A+

The best part about this intro, is that it was you. You were the one that appeared from nowhere in OoT. You were the one that stopped Ganondorf. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

Adult Link was sent back by Zelda to relive his childhood. There was no more hero in the Adult Link time to create a hero bloodline. Thats why evil was able to return.

this story explains the OOT, but then when Ganon returns and the Hero doesn't, but when it refers to "faced by an onslaught of evil, the people could do nothing but appeal to the gods" -- the gods actually answered that second time. they flooded all of hyrule to prevent ganon from taking the triforce, and then at the tops of the mountains, are the islands where people live today (wind waker) and then the new link's story starts off

There are certainly many discrepancies throughout the series, but you have to take them with a grain of salt, and choose which ones to believe and choose which ones are just wrong.

There are many different Links, and Zeldas. Ganon seems to always evade complete destruction and appears in many of the games. Nintendo officially states in Spirit Tracks that it basically came after Phantom Hourglass and anyone who knew anything about Zelda wouldn't dispute that. The environment changes because between some games, there are periods of up to centuries, and things happen (wars) that change the layout.

Untrue. Majora's Mask was not tied into the "storyline" of the series. None of the games are, in actuality, as they are all variations of the one and same story. The ONLY known sequel of a Zelda-game ever produced is this, Wind Waker, which is as stated a sequel to Ocarina of Time.
