good song but she does have to practice transitions when she sings since she cant control her voice sometimes espically when she sings higher pitch but with practice that could be fixed so theres hope in her being a good singer not a singing expert but i play an instrument and well im pretty good with pitch and stuff and she reminds me of a clareint going up the break and not being able to hit the high notes well and the transitons from the lower octave to the higher octave

@tonytugg in case you aren't aware, katy perry is always listed as a co-writer along with three or four other major writers for her record label. what this translates to is that she most likely has less than 25% of the input on the writing of her songs, and considering she is working with well-known lyricists that percentage is probably much lower. that is even more pathetic once you consider the stupidity of her lyrics. And she obviously relies heavily on autotune if you have ever seen her live

But as a I understand that you could sometimes forget your technique a little in a performance.
And in those very difficult, high, upbeat songs, like teenage dream, i do not blame her being off sometimes.
She needs a little vocal training but saying she CAN'T perform is just bull.. she CAN sing very well.. maybe not the best singer, but a great performer cause thats more than the singing alone

@TheSexyKangaroo I tell the truth..I'm not some crazy fan who only likes one artist and hates all the rest. I used to love Katy's music but then I heard one of her live performances and it just ruined it for me. And, if you read below I DID in fact say she sounded BETTER here. But, it's still just not as good as her recorded stuff. I firmly believe that if you want to be a singer that you should be able to sing live. Katy is beautiful...but she just doesn't know how to perform.

@Kellyy92 oh, I don't care that she sings a different melody...I think singers SHOULD do that when they sing live so that they can switch it up and make it interesting. She's considered a bad singer because her pitch is off on so many notes and she has poor control over her voice. It sounds kind of squeaky. She's a cute girl who writes cute songs but she CAN'T perform.

Katy Perry's fame is dying quick. She didn't win anything for the grammy's. I barely hear about her anymore since Gaga's been making such a big deal about her new CD. Katy will NEVER be able to top Gaga.
I can't stand her talking and yelling voice. It hurts my ears and her singing voice has improved a little but it still makes me cringe.

@tonytugg I watched this not just because I wanted to write a comment about her lack of talent but I watched so that I can know the truth if she can or can't sing. Well, I've seen it and I can voice my opinion all I want. I do research on musicians and artists before I come to a conclusion about how I feel about them. Gaga can sing, dance in high-heels, and she knows how to get fans. Katy can't do any of that so suck it. Only idiots like you would think she can sing.
