i am a ford fan (other than nissan) but damn the regular c6 corvette is just a bargain, get a low 12 sec car for under 60k and with a few grand in mods you have basically a zr1 (minus the carbon fiber and suspension set up)

I think the 4.6 litre 281 cubic inch v8 in that mustang holds its own pretty good considering that vette has what a 6.0 litre 400 and what cubic inch v8. just imagine if the mustang actually had an engine the same size. Sure he lost but if you think about it these two cars were never meant to be in the same bracket to begin with

@dleib2009 Well completely understand your point, however the corvette is 6.0 liter but is only 376 cu in not 400. And when you say what if the mustang had a same size engine , think about ''positive displacement '' so when you add a 1.7l blower to a 4.6l engine that makes it a 6.3l engine because of that. Also remember the valve train difference the 4 valves per cylinder. Both motors are in my top 5 favorite for sure ! They are both the best engine of there kind. ; )

@Jutzujin You can make big power with the LS7 very easily though and I think the block is good for around 1000hp stock. Saw a video with a 76mm Turbo running 5psi and it was making around 670rwhp. You could run 850 crank hp reliably out of one.

@adriank9 It had a cam, probably was around 480whp. Remember that the Corvette is much lighter and more aerodynamic than a Mustang.. Power to weight was the deciding factor here cause there is no doubt in my mind that the mustang had at least 100whp more.

That's just a 'base' Vette too. Not A Z06 or ZR1... Even the base Vette is at least 500 lbs lighter, more areo dynamic, and much wider rubber (all add up to a huge advantage).
