Just finished reading the diaries of Danish nurse and teacher, Marie Jacobsen. Along with a international corps of nurses and doctors she worked on the border of Turkey and Armenia 1914-19. They witnessed Turk rounding up all Armenians in the area, killing the men, marching off women and children whom they killed as they went along, leaving dead bodies along the road and in a nearby lake - 30,000 of them. They managed to save a dozen of children who survived their wounds.
