I did an Easy Rider tour from Nha Trang to Dalat, impression I get now is that there are lots of people using the name 'Easy Rider' so have no idea if they are linked to the people you mention in this video. They seemed reputable enough and it really was the highlight of my time in Vietnam.
Mark, Dalat was one of the highlights of my tour in Vietnam. I found the city itself fascinating & even better was the surrounding village areas. One question that I´m burning to ask is how were you able to find an ´authentic´ Easy Rider. As you´re probably well aware, many local folks around town pose as one, but truly the membership is quite exclusive, or so I´ve heard :)
@NomadicSamuel When I arrived, I just chose a guide who I thought would be a good interview. Then one night I wandered into a busy cafe/bar. I was invited to join a round (or two) with the original guys. Just a matter of luck that I met them. A lot of the old timers were in the sth viet army.
@overlander : That must have been really memorable! It always feels most authentic to mingle with the locals in some capacity. The things they would have seen/experienced in their lifetime would be truly mind boggling. Anyhow, I never felt like the service offered by other bikers would be of a lesser standard, just found it particularly amusing how everyone claimed to be one. The guy I went with was great as well & most likely not an original either :)
i also did an easy rider tour, three days, and it WAS THE BEST PART OF MY VIETNAM VACATION... I HIGHLY recommend it, getting away from the tourist centers and onto the back roads with your own personal guide/driver and instant new friend.
One of the things I wished I had time for when I was in Dalat! (My other regret was not meeting the Crazy Monk.) Looks like you had a fun time with the Easy Riders. P.S. Great pho recipe. ;)
