  • 3:02 gave me a heart attack.

  • hey if i try (i just began 1 week or so ) than i try to do the sound i dont heaer a deep tone but i hear my own voice with a scratch is it ok or wrong because i want to do llike guttural if i can do this please help

  • @103580marnix Yeah, it's gonna be more tonal when you begin. If you practice the heavy sigh more, than you will get better at it and be able to get more distortion than voice

  • omg okay, so I LOVE screamo I've been trying so hard to screamo scream! This video finaly got me to do it right!! :D Lol! so yeahh thankss ya! [I may sing country but I love mah screamo] :) <333456

  • What do you mean inhale before i scream? I always do.

  • @TheSkyWilIFade Learn proper breathing techniques. If you haven't learned to sing, don't learn to scream. A lot of vital techniques carry over like, diaphragm control, throat closure, larynx position and where to "position" your voice for tonal qualities

  • I can't hold a scream for maybe 4 to 5 seconds tops. How do i make it loner?

  • @TheSkyWilIFade Inhale before you scream. Practice

  • TRIVIUM FUCK YEAH

  • So you're saying that if false chord screaming hurts at first, that its a good thing? Because I tried it and I think I have the hang of it but it hurts a little, and I don't want to mess anything up.

  • @GuitarMan682 yeh it hurts at the beginning

  • I can do the basic Exhale/Outward Screaming but can't possibly make the High Pitch Screaming or False Chord :(

  • the whole "heavy sigh" thing. i get it , but when i do my lows like that my voice gets soar.... what am i doing wrong?

  • @kickassmelvin Nothing. It just takes getting used to. That's how my high's felt at first. With practice, it gets better

  • @FinalRendition so it's like working out, it's supposed to hurt, that's how it gets better?

  • @kickassmelvin Exactly

  • @FinalRendition oh okay then =P thanks man

  • @FinalRendition i can do my scream low really well but i cant sustain it for long enough. idk why, but i get light headed when i hold it for more than 5 seconds lol. Can u tell me how to prevent it or help me out base on ur experience?

  • @encounter50 Remember to breath from your diaphragm. Your abdomen should expand, not your chest. If you do that, it should get easier. Just keep at it

  • Hey i love your tutorials, i have dont false for 5 months. but i cant scream for very long with my breath what could i do???

  • This was good man can you post a vid on how to strengthen your voice? Just starting and mine sounds weak and still has the exhale sound in it

  • TRIVIUM FOR THE WIN !!!

  • I needs some comments on my videos and subs so please take some time to watch them and leave comments. Thanks

  • I've been trying this for a few months now, and I can KIND OF get the false chord scream sound, but I can only do it for 15-20 seconds tops. Never any more. I find drinking milk helps it quite a bit, but I still can't do it for a significant period of time. Am I doing it wrong? Or do I just need to keep trying and trying?

  • Favorite for the trivium intro haha

  • jerry officialBAMF

  • I can't get it. It sounds like and wimpy. Like gorillas humping is how I'd describe it.

  • you sir are a moron

  • I can't get rid of the raspy sound and I'm a girl how do you get rid of it?

  • I can do it okay..ish.. but I can't do it for long. I can do it for about 10 seconds but then my voice just goes dry and no noise comes out when I try it. Am I doing it wrong or do I just need practice?

  • I was like that. Keep practicing

  • i can do death but i cant do false :( help mee

  • There's no difference. It's different names for the same technique

  • @FinalRendition theres alot of difference, you are mistaken my friend ;)

  • @EpicMmuffins No, there isnt. The pitch is different, but the technique is the same. False is just higher

  • @FinalRendition no hes right there is a difference somewhere theres a fin line between fry and false the one that id like to point out is fry is close to a whisper scream which is what people call shit now false chord has a rougher more detailed pitch and sound plus you can get higher

  • @BMTH31848 We werent talking about false and fry, we where talking about false and death, which are the same thing. I know the difference between fry and false, which is why I have videos about both

  • @FinalRendition not quite.... death chord is what your doing here. there is a fine line between fry and false because they both require a lot of pressure in your abdomen. death chord is mainly used in pure death metal

  • trivium is fucking awesome. :)

  • My cousin is the guitar player of Ends of The Earth. The new drummer for Trivium is his drummer ^_^

  • holy shit man. thats gotta be fucking an honor to play with a band like trivium.

  • wow thanks, ive been doing false and death for a couple months but i didnt know what it was called :P

  • omg haha i found fry so much easier and i was able to do fry rly loud and powerful, but it's so hard for me to learn false chord for some reason lol i cant do highs very good

  • lol your names ironic to you watching this :P

  • how so? lol

  • peacemaker and screamo tends to seems like opposites :D

  • I envy you ha, I'm the exact opposite... I can false chord with ease for hours on end, but I can't get the fry scream. I can do all the "pre-steps" for the fry scream where people want you to make the fry sound, and then they say to turn that into a scream... But I just don't get how I'm supposed to do that -- it always ends up as a false chord for me.

Any tips on how to turn that fry "croak" noise into a fry scream? I want to use fry's for my highs and false chords for my lows.

  • well tbh i've been screaming for a couple years now and have tinkered lol with all the types, but you can't rly do fry when you do false chord, when you use false chord it like smoothes over the spot in your throat where fry catches like and makes sound, i can't even fry anymore lol but i've finally got my high false chords down. they're much more powerful anyway

  • roflmfao "but if you compare rah to RAAAHHHHH!!!... big difference.. SO YEAH"

  • i actually find fry really hard, but false/death easy.......strange

  • same actually xD

  • Me too. Fry is virtually impossible to me.

  • its not too hard. i do both and fry was easier for me than false chord. once you get the croak noise close your throat to where thers not much air oming out then push. thats how i do it anyway.

  • I can do that creaking noise from about five different parts of my throat. One of them is the "real" fry vocal area, but ALL of them inflict damage to my voice instantly.

  • @newbaberuth OMFG THANKYOU SO MUCH :D

  • for what?

  • @newbaberuth you said close your throat and push,i werent doin that an i diddd and it works woo thankyou :D ^.^

  • other way for me.

I learned false chord first, then I learned fry.

  • @gothincorp me too! its odd but ppl are always asking if i can fry and when i say no thier like wtf???

  • @gothincorp meeeeeeeeeeeee tooooooooooo

  • @gothincorp fry is fucking easy to me , but false chord . oh god . so hard =) . strangee =P

  • @drummercikaiii I was the exact same way. False chord takes a bit more practice, but I like it better

  • @FinalRendition yeah , i wanna learn it , because it's stronger and louder =) scary also =DD

  • @gothincorp same here. i think u need to know how to sing to fry scream

  • Does screaming like this ruin your vocal chords?

  • No. It only does if you're doing it wrong, in which case it would hurt

  • @devilpanic No, it uses different vocal chords, called the false chords. Suprise suprise. Hahah

  • ik how to scream i watch ur vids to help u cuz ur newer. i wouldnt say the chord screams are better. it really depends in which context. like if u can use em both like in alesana or atreyu then its a lot better

  • atreyu use inhales :]

  • thanks dude best vid on youtube on learnig how to scream

  • What was the song at the very end of the vid?

  • Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis by Trivium

  • Thank you.

Excellent vid by the way. Very helpful.

  • *now i know how!*

    srry lol

  • Wow this is a really good explanation, THANKS!!!
