I'm just on the glicazide. 1 pill a day. I manage to not eat a lot of carbs that raise my blood sugar. And cinnamen lowers your blood sugar. I am able to keep my stats at 6.5 unless I am bad.
I'm just too far gone... Mine reaches a low of 5.2 at 2AM in the middle of my shift at work and at other times it's as high as 14. I believe insulin is the way to go for me because I'm at the maximum does for glumetza and gliclazide...
@fehquig I do not want to go on insulin. I am really trying to keep that away. Although my sister who is 12 years older than me says it is inevitable that I will progess to insulin injections because of hereidy. I am 51. I have never seen my sugar go above 8.
@FrenchHornSweetheart And I am very concerned about this. I deny myself a lot of sweets and foods to keep it away.. I eat oatmeal, I eat a lot of vegetables.
@FrenchHornSweetheart Everyone is different... My mother has a friend who caught it very early and with keeping a very strict diet was able to reverse and cure her diabetes. I suppose I'd be better off if I exercised more...
Metformin gave me bad diarrhea! I had to be put on glumetza, which is a time-release version of Metformin... I won't have to worry about that stuff and I think i will have better control with insulin.
Expect it to get worse. Even several years in advance of you, I still function quite nicely, but I quietly remember those years long past when I functioned like a nuclear device. Hold those memories. LOL
Looks like a delightful night out, with elegant food and real service. Kelsey's seems to be a place to go.
Look up Peyronie's disease... It's a lot worse than the gradual losses of sensation and staying power that come with age. I remember how well things worked only three years ago, and I'd like to get back to that if I can! I don't expect to end up like I was in my teens, but I also don't want to be totally unable...
For a chain restaurant, Kelsey's is rather good. It's a lot like Applebees or Chilis or Ruby Tuesday's. We will go back at some point.
I love to watch you and Cindy dine!! Cindy, Andy's meal was more up my alley. OMG I wanted those shrimp. But your dessert looked divine. Hugs to you both!
the quig sure is a lucky man with a gal like Cindy ! the waitress was so much fun ! sure wish that more were like her ! no vodka for me ... never liked the stuff... I'll go for a whiskey, gin or a beer though, lol ! We ate used to loads of info and that is what we enjoy with guys !
Every time I see or think of Cindy I know I'm lucky... Perky young waitresses are the best!
I think we will go back and sit in her section again... We have remarkably similar tastes in beverages :) I like putting some information in my vids, but I don't want to be overloading or exhaustive, especially in a restaurant vid.
Food looks great, What u had Andy is what i would have went for!
Desert looked yum, but like you i am not allowed it, going to my first diabetes clinic on the 7th feb, hope they happy with my bloods. Dick doc , thats a new one"
Those two appetizers looked like the most appetizing things on the menu and I was not disappointed! I have been diabetic now for probably ten years. I found out about it seven years ago, so I didn't get it early enough to cure it with diet or pills. Oh well, you make the best of it. Maybe some day in our lifetime there will be a cure!
What a doll waitress. I am with ya Cindy give me some vodka. No burger for Quiggy. TMI for dinner conversation. Somehow I missed previously your dicky problems. You are cracking me up with that meal you could just ate a burger lol.
@cozzyk Our waitress was terrific! Quigs can not live on burgers alone LOL We made a video last Spring or early Summer called "My Little Peyronie" where we talked about Peyronie's disease... After the next round of treatments I will make an update. I have had problems since a few months before we went to Daytona Beach, so it's been going on for a while.
good grief...all the food looks fantastic. you two always make me smile. glad you had such a great meal and had the added blessing of a gift card to boot. thanks for the vid.
Dick doc? I've never heard of one before. I suppose the proper term would be androcologist, as opposed to gynocologist. Squash is one of the few things I have an aversion to. The rest of the food looked good.
I like variety... There's a restaurant where we will be going tomorrow called Applebees (yes, we made a vid or two there) where you can choose any three out of eight appetizers. I usually go for that selection... The other thing just needs a bit of fine tuning :)
My last A1C was 6.4, not bad. I have to watch what I drink though. People have a stigma that insulin is hard core, doesn't bother me. Still take metformin. The waitress was really nice. Maybe allspice in the soup? Nice to get a gift certificate like that, I would love that.
My A1Cs are usually a little over seven, but my sugars fluctuate too much... What I need is more control than I'm getting with the pills. We shall see in a few weeks what the doctor orders...
perfect a virgin waitress. classic. love the dr joke. oh the dessert looks lovely.
