  • Who would have thought a simple camera flash would result in a split! Pete Weber left behind the 10 pin when he was camera flashed. It was worse for Walter.

  • i dont like Chris barnes

  • i believe WRW did mention that he didnt get fined on that

  • i hate chris barnes

  • To clear things up he said "What the shit"

  • No he didn't, He said "What the Fuck"

  • awesome haha

  • there are a few flaws with the argument comparing this to baseball or basketball. first, pro bowling isn't like other sports.. you don't get a multi-million dollar contract just to be part of a franchise. there are some instances where your career lives or dies by these shots in bowling. if you lose a game in the NBA because of a missed free throw, sure, it sucks, but you still get a fat paycheck in the end. in bowling, it's every man for his own.

  • second, in other sports, there is always noise and distractions and it's easier to block out when they're always occurring. in these arena setting, when it's silent, and you're about to make a big shot in a sport that requires a lot of concentration and accuracy, and it's completely silent and you aren't expecting a distraction, a camera flash can really throw you off. he could have handled it a little more professionally but jeez, if i were him, i would have been a lot less composed

  • shut the fuck up dave ryan u goofy bastard

  • on replay he sounded like shit watch the lips

  • "It's stupid!" - Randy Pedersen. Haha. He's awesome.

  • I think Fechter91 would also suggested in Golf, we make noises and use our camera flashes when the pros are driving and putting

  • I don't know what planet you're on, but I'm pretty sure you get escorted off the course if you do that. You can take pictures and make all the noise you want once the shot has been hit, but not before. It works the same way in bowling. You go snap a picture of a professional golfer in the middle of their swing when you're right in their face and tell me you don't get chewed out as well.

  • did walter ray yell out "what the fuck" or shit? "

  • Yes.

  • did walter ray say "what the fuck?"

  • Comment removed

  • HERE'S WHAT YA'LL DON'T REALIZE: In an arena finals, camera flashes are very visible. And when someone does that right before someone is releasing the ball THAT WILL PISS YOU OFF IF IT MAKES YOU THROW A BAD SHOT LIKE THAT 4-6-7 SPLIT!

  • Well, I'd be pretty pissed if someone inadvertently took a FLASH camera pic shot of me in my face when I was in the middle of delivering a rather important shot. >_>

I'll always think he should have won this match if it wasn't for that unfortunate event.

  • In my opinion, if Walter Ray is supposed to be the best, it shouldn't matter that someone took a picture while he was bowling. There's a bowling alley by me that has cosmic bowling at night. They have the lights off, with these disco lights flashing and fog machines. It's pretty cool, but you get the lights in you eyes while you bowl. Doesn't affect me any.

  • its different then, you know the flashing lights are coming, you really dont care about them and you can block them out,

in walter ray's case, he was so focused on his shot and there was no way that the thought of someone taking a FLASH photo was in his head becuase of the fact it really has not happened

in this case, I would have gotten mad too, but the whole "it has to be silent or i cant bowl" is really quite stupid

  • Id be willing to bet your level of concentration during a cosmic bowling night is a just a little bit lower then walter ray williams jr during a tournament. You don't scream at tiger woods when hes in the middle of a downswing. If i were walter ray I would have jumped off the lanes and beat the living fuck out of that person. Guy, girl, kid, infant, I wouldn't care. I would have used my ball like a hammer, and beat that fuck.

  • hahaha, that's halrious

  • but when bowling in tv finals you do not expect to have people taking flash photos of you whether you are the best or not a flash photo is really offputting

  • Way to put yourself in Walter Ray's shoes, bud... You're expected those random lights to be there. He isn't, and rightfully so. You're bowling for fun. He's bowling for tens of thousands of dollars on televsion with conditions that allow for almost no room for error. You're probably bowling on a house shot that's 5 boards wide. I think you'd have a different opinion if this had happened to you.

  • dude if you're bowling on tv i dont think you can even walk out there!

  • Well, in any sport people are taking pictures all the time, what makes this so different. You may not be expecting it, but you should. In baseball people sitting behind homeplate take pictures using the flash and it would get in the pitchers eyes. I don't see them bitching about it like all of you are!

  • lol thats a little different. A pitcher can throw a bad pitch and still win the game. fuck, the pitcher could walk half the team and still win. you cant throw a bad ball in the PBA and expect to win. And this video is a perfect example of it. He made 1 bad shot because of the cunt with the camera and lost.

  • You're wrong! You can bowl a bad ball, and still win the match. It has happened before.

  • not when you are playing chris barnes.

    come on scrub

  • this is true. but baseball is outside, where the flash isn't as.. well, bright to their eyes.

  • Ok, then how about basketball. A guy shooting a free throw with hundreds of people taking a picture of him, signs flashing, and noise.

Either way, I still think he over reacted about the person taking a picture. Dumb move by the person taking a picture, but still. Plus, Walter still could have won the match.

  • because you know not to expect it in bowling. if you are used to not being distracted after 30 years, why would you cope with it?

  • Just a bad break for Walter.

  • I had heard this spoken of, but never seen it. That distraction was definitely too bad. I think the only other one that comes to mind of this magnitude, was when Patrick Allen was interrupted by one of the announcers during the 2005 U.S. Open.

  • right at like 53-54 seconds, before the camera changes to an overhead view, you can see the flash

  • I think that picture the dude took should be on ebay. "The shot that screwed him"

  • no,

    it's not there anymore

  • I wish they would of panned over the the fan with the camera and see the look on their face after walter cursed at them haha

  • that would of been funny as fuck

  • hahahahahahaha gota luv wrw!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?!

  • haha gotta learn to spell

  • yes he did yell "what the fuck?!?"...

  • i would be upset for that one too, except walter is not tiger woods or he would ve stopped the shot

  • Well the problem was that it was when he was just releasing the ball so it would almost be impossible to stop unless he had an extremely tight thumb hole.

  • yea, i know i was just kiddin on that one, the flash happened when the thumb comes out and the fingers are feelin the release

but wonder why didnt he call a distraction, cuz Learn jr did it

  • Cuz they disallowed call distractions in ESPN, it's pretty gay in my book. I miss ABC Wide World of Sports.

  • Stop the shot? He had fifteen pounds in his hand MOVING - he couldn't stop that.

    Tiger Woods?

  • damn that fan

  • did Walter Ray yell "What the fuck!?" lol

  • yep he did
