This is great. I composed music to Thoreau's poem What's the Railroad to Me and put up the video on youtube. Then I wondered if anyone else did anything with Thoreau and music and so I came across this. This is awesome!
David Mallet has recorded with permission a whole album of Thoreau's works from the book The Maine Woods. The Album can be found at Mallets' web site.
Me too... I've loved David Mallet's work ever since his first album came out, which I bought in college in Maine. I still feel warm listening to those old songs, like it's cold outside and getting dark but I'm just getting home.
