(CONT.) Australia had less interaction with other cultures when its own was coming out. So when new ones start arriving with immigrants it causes problems. Canada on the other hand was formed through 3 cultures coming together into one, with close interaction with a very different American culture to the south, and less close Russian culture to the west (back when Alaska was part of Russia). So as people started arriving it all became part of our culture and so the idea works for us here.

Know matter how hard people may try, they have never been able to alter the Canadian identity, the ideals, and the culture. In Australia it doesn't work. 6 months ago i had a good job, i was there for 6 years, one week we were flat out busy and we hired the help of new immigrants working for a contractor, Although the help was useless due to lack of experience and poor english I thanked the contractor who supplied the workers and told my boss they wee ok becuase i felt sorry for the useless bastards. 2 months later i get called into the bosses office and the vboss says they did their sums and decided to replace us with the contractors

(CONT.) Australia had less interaction with other cultures when its own was coming out. So when new ones start arriving with immigrants it causes problems. Canada on the other hand was formed through 3 cultures coming together into one, with close interaction with a very different American culture to the south, and less close Russian culture to the west (back when Alaska was part of Russia). So as people started arriving it all became part of our culture and so the idea works for us here.

I can agree with some of your statements, but others I don't view in the same way as you. Multiculturalism is a good thing, but not for every nation. Places like Canada it is a good thing. Know matter how hard people may try, they have never been able to alter the Canadian identity, the ideals, and the culture. In Australia it doesn't work. I think the reason is how the culture was formed.

6 months ago i had a good job, i was there for 6 years, one week we were flat out busy and we hired the help of new immigrants working for a contractor, Although the help was useless due to lack of experience and poor english I thanked the contractor who supplied the workers and told my boss they wee ok becuase i felt sorry for the useless bastards. 2 months later i get called into the bosses office and the vboss says they did their sums and decided to replace us with the contractors

I'd count Australia in the main, a sophisticated, well education country, whom i hope has a better understanding of other cultures and appreciation for diversity. Or, at the very least, the desire to learn from other backgrounds, and embrace the positives. But hey, what ever floats your boat and takes up your time, i'd rather spend time enjoying life in this fantastic diverse country.
