  • if tension pully wiggles even the slitest bit should it be replaced and how?

  • never put any type of fluid on your belt. couple comments down the dude is a noob.

  • run your supercharger belt in the center of the 8 ribs, not at teh back.

  • @xcalix YES I M SERIOUS TRY IT OUT OR TRY IT OUT WHEN THE CAR IS @ HALT, & ITS NOT @ ALL FUNNY !!!!

  • SOUNDS LIKE THE BEARING ARE WORN OUT... WELL THAT WHAT I THINK ? IF NOT .. JUS LUBRICATE THE BELT WITH GREASE A BIT WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING... IT WILL SOVE THE PROBLEM FOR SURE !!!!!!

  • @ALLYDAEWOO really? Not funny

  • Its funny I just changed a belt on the same car today.

  • yea man the alternator

  • according to gm it is possibly a problem with the alternator belt pully not being perfectly in line with the other pulleys - use a lazer pen to see if the alternator pully is slightly crooked. - mine did the same thing

  • i think its barrings in your superchager

  • my problem came from changing from the gen 3 to the gen v supercharger they block the pcv valve off so i had to run a breather to eliminate it. mine made the noise with the belt off. if yours was like that i would say to check the pcv valve but since yours goes away without the belt thats not it . you checked out most things i could think of make sure there isnt a problem somewhere in the supercharger itself.

  • hey i have a 95 bonneville with the 3800 series ll motor and i have the same exact noise.. i even have videos..

i replaced the pspump, water pump, alternator, belt tensioner and belt and the noise is still there.. but when i start the car with out the belt the noise goes away.. have you figured out whats making the noise yet.. i still have the noise for 5 months now and its driving me insane.. thanks if you can try to help.. and sorry i cnat help you.

  • what about your tension pulley? Heres something to try.. wait for the noise to start, then pour a little bit of water on the belts.. if the noise goes away you know the problem is belt or belt alignment oriented. Dont rule out alignment issues.. I replaced my alternator, PS pump, tension pulley assembly trying to diagnose this horrendous squealing I had with a brand new belt.. turned out to be one washer that fit between alternator and alt. bracket.. live and learn I suppose

  • either the alternator bearing or the supercharger bearing they go aswell

  • its not the supercharger bearing i started the car up with the supercharger belt off and had the same noise. also had the alternator checked at alternator shop.
