i never noticed this before untill today my ortho dontist told me i had it and now im super caouncious of it and it bugs me :[ im afraid i cant fix it, it never messed up my teeth before but now i cant get my braces off because of it D':
I really have to thank this therapist for helping me with this problem. After only 1 day of doing this exercise (repeatedly), I noticed a HUGE difference in where my tongue naturally wants to rest. I even woke up the next day and felt like my tongue hadn't been pushing on my teeth all night. I was about to start $7000+ worth of orthodontic work but now I want to see what happens naturally by just doing this exercise plus other online therapy videos.

wow this explains a lot! i've had braces forever (really! about 6 1/2 years -_-') spaces always keep coming back as soon as they close because of my tongue. it sucks. i think i might get invisalign since it's been so long, and i'm definitely going to use this technique.
how can this be corrected in an older person. A person can't control this during sleep. I used to have perfectly straight teeth and as they started pushing apart and it looks awful plus interrferes with speech. I finally asked a dentist and he explained what it was. He said they do not make appliances to place in the mouth when I sleep and braces at my age isn't a good idea. Then what to do to conceal the space on the front right side of my mouth. Everyone notices and asks.
thats why i cant breathe through my nose still after nose surgery and braces...gosh i needa put my braces back on and with the allastics fix it././im not breaking my jaw/
wow my jaw is fucked up because of tongue thrusting. i tried to do what she did in the video, but the moment i try to put my tongue to the roof of my mouth my jaw pops and closes. -_-
I have this.I always thought my teeth were f**ked up because of genetics(My dads teeth are SERIOUSLY f**ked up,but he's a chain smoker so go figure.),but i guess its because of this (sad).
Every orthodontist/dentist should have this vid. It shows the importance between tongue posture, swallowing pattern to orthodontic/orthopaedic problems and also airway issues.
that girl was totally fake laughing at the end
