Mordecai is about how fucked up and selfish people are and I think the reference to Shevanel in that song is that You don't have to have everything to be happy, you just have to make the best of what you have. They have nothing and are just stoked about life. As far as the cut a flip part, I have no fucking clue. Maybe it has something to do with flipping back and forth from dreams to reality?
