I love these spirituals. When I was 10-12 yrs old, I used to sneak out at night and go to the Mount Olive Baptist Church to listen to the singing. I was the only white face there, but those precious people made me feel welcome and the Lord blessed me every time. Each time I hear a song like this, I am transported back to those times and I long to once more see those lovely people who gave this kid a thrill with their singing.
I kno that you would like for Greg to come back and lead the supreme angels but he has his on group now, and sugar hightower is in the nursing home now.
It's not too often that a "real" up lifting song comes along that touches your heart and spirit. This is one such song. Wouldn't it be great, if we all were "just like him"?
I am suffering clinical depression. There songs immediately lift my burdens off of me. Maybe not for as long as I'd like, but anything is good enough.
