  • Your army is standing stron in a huge formation waiting for the battle... one single man is moving his feet... THE MUSIC TURNS :D

  • Units! Advance! :)

  • lol dont know y this sentence is in medieval because thats the name that the acient roman empire gave to the mediterrean sea in latin to symbolise theyre conquer by the knowen world

  • @GuiAlphaProductions And they gave the theme it's tied to to the Italians. It is 'their sea'.

  • pavise crossbowmen are fireing...

  • this game simultaneously made me a militarist and a pacifist...

  • @OneEyeWonderWeasil Exactly, sometime, I cant decide whether I wish for war or for peace. I mean, I love peace, but playing this very game is contradictory to that. Lol.

  • Nuestro Mar!

  • mare nostrum : mediterrean sea

  • @monroekissedme it is mediterranean, but "mare nostrum" means "our sea"

  • Now that is a fucking awesome picture.

  • @SeRoAnthem I meant the first one but now after watching the video I conclude that they are all awesome.

  • Best game ever!

  • dont waste your time playing vanilla, try stainless steel

  • @MadLarKin90 lolwut? xP

  • @pricture

stainless steel mod the best mod you can ever dream of for a total war game

  • @sultankraver lol ok, I only downloaded 2 mods in my life though, and thats Eastern Fronts and Firestorm over Kronus. Whats Stainless Steel about? :)

(and what in god's name is "Vanilla" in modding, I keep on hearing about it xS)

  • @pricture

vanilla is the original game without the modifications

    and stainless steel changes EVERYTHING

in mtw2 new textures, units, and a bigger map that extends into persia

the features of kingdoms in the vanilla map

  • @sultankraver Oh ok, cool

  • @MadLarKin90 whats vanilla i hear it everywhere from fallout to these games?

  • @Sterben10 vanilla is the original game without mods

  • @MadLarKin90 ohhh

  • moors and spain factions .............

  • andalucian lands..........

  • Byzantium ftw

  • Mare Nostrum (Our Sea/Ocean) was the term the Romans had for the Mediterranean Sea after they defeated Carthage and they were the sole naval power in the area

  • Awesome!

  • Music always starts for me when I send cavalry to flank.

  • "A Roman Lake"

  • lol, I've heard this one a lot during battles.

  • THIS SOUNDS LIKE SPAIN ....

  • Mare Nostrum, il nostro mare. Era un modo di dire per affermare il dominio Romano sul Mediterraneo dopo le tre vittorie su Cartagine.

  • To be honest this track sounds more Ancient/Roman than Medieval/European.

  • @AvengefulAngel maybe the title but not the track it self.

  • Never plays in Italy...and Mare Nostrum is what the Romans called the entire damned Mediterranean sea (arrogant ass bastards they are...) or was it just one particular sea in the region? I can't remember the names of them all.

  • "Today is day for brave deeds and brave hearts!"

  • it is southern european music northern european/ southern european/ and middle eastern(islamic) thats what land/building/music details are based on

  • Awesome series.. and an awesome song

  • It's Latin indeed.

The song sounds spanish, a lot. Mainly because of some instruments. I like it.

  • @ChikoEduardo Certainly seemed like the theme of the Milanese or the Venetians!

  • @ChikoEduardo Yes... it mainly plays in the Iberian zones... so it's Portuguese and Spanish (don't like saying spanish, sounds selfish and they are not the only country in Iberia anyway).

  • @Clavsicus Iberia was also used to refer to the Caucus by the Romans, does it play there?

  • @HiveFleetHydra It was not known as Caucus by the Romans and WTF is wrong with you? did someoen gave you the wrong information? do you know what Caucus is?

  • @Clavsicus Go to Mare Nostrum on Wiki, you'll see the Caucus with the title Iberia on it, and only a small portion of the internet uses photo editing software so I think it's reliable.

  • Also, the Greeks called Spain Iberia, the Romans called the peninsula Hispania.

  • @HiveFleetHydra

The romans called the peninsula Iberia, because the first great river they found there was the river Iberus (Ebro). The greeks called the peninsula Hispania, because they were shakened because of the great number of rabbits XD. Hispania means "Land of rabbits", it isn't a joke haha

  • @kukumarro You are almost correct. Yet, it was the Phoenecians who named it Hispania. I looked it up because I am Greek and I couldn't break down Hispania to its components. The ancient greek word for rabbit is koniklos and land is of course, gaia.

  • @kukumarro Interesting fact, thanks for informing us :D !

  • @kukumarro That was actually cool to know heh, nifty to know origins

  • @kukumarro I myself am Greek and I had no clue 0_0

  • @kukumarro Thanks for the fact sir. I will remember it :D

  • To end all semantic and grammatical discussions, "Mare Nostrum" comes from Latin, it means Our Sea and it was used by ancient Greeks and Romans to say the Mediterranean Sea.

  • Our sea.

  • you know the best thing when I play Medieval 2 Total war is not about Crusade or Jihad...It was conquering EUROPE... HA! HA! HA!

  • Tap dance!

  • dunno about you guys, but this song was the most "spanish" to me :O

  • Ah, I think "Death Lullaby" is more Spanish. This one does have a Spanish feel too though.

  • Isnt Spanish is Iberian

  • Spain is on the Iberian pinensula, my friend.

  • And has several nations on it also theres Portugal!

  • Um, not really. Spain takes up 85% of the Iberian pinensula. Portugal is the other 15%. There is a tiny amount of France that is considered part of the pinensula, as well as the tiny nations of Andorra and Gibraltar, but all three are under 1%. So I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the song is Spanish.

Please go take a geography class.

  • You pretty sure why you are pretty sure? It could from anywhere also Spain has various nations in it Catalonia Galicia Basque Country etc that dont find themselfs spanish at all you should take a History Class

  • Why are you being so assertive? My original statement was just that this song has a Spanish feel, because it does. I'm not saying that it absolutely has to be Spanish, I'm just saying that it feels Spanish. Geez. Whatever happened to just appreciating the music?

  • EH eh sure just forget it then XD

  • @OberleutnantFalke i agree with you bro specially at 2:42 through 3;00

  • You should know that the ppl who lives in those regions and "don't find themselfs spanish" are only a very low % ( less than 14% last time i saw it). And I am pretty sure 'cos I live there

  • I think its more italian. I associate to Venice or Milan.

  • its fun to hear the choir musics in siege..

    Because its like..

I dont know how to explain

    ITS EPIC!

    This game is epic!

Medieval 2 is the best war game i've ever played.

  • This theme was already in the original Medieval I. It's simply magnificent!

  • best gamemusic ive ever listened^^

  • Medieval 2 is one of those few games, who's music is MINDBLOWING.

  • this is one of the best marching songs in medieval =]

when you here this you loose your fear, and accapt the fact that you could die...

  • And then you realise that it's a game and that sometimes going back to school to study grammar is your best option.

    <3

  • This is the internet, bro. The grammar here is like an invalid baby. Also, it's not just a game, it's music, and there is MUCH difference between the two as far as fiction and reality go.

  • Exactly. But can i just ask, who let you out of your cage? You're not supposed to come out until you've reached the age of 12.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder why there isn't a seperate music style created for this sort of music.I've searched everything from folk techno to tribal beats, but nothing is even similar to this.

  • jeez jeff van dyk is a fuking legend :D

  • MARE NOSTRUM =Our sea

  • mare nostrum è il nome usato dai romani per indicare il mediterraneo

  • @segador26 that sayd Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini when he captured whole Adriatic Sea :D

  • All hail Jeff!

    Best musician out there:)

  • I love this one

  • How do you get the music? CAn you get it from the CD

  • you go into your /medieval directory then you go /data/sounds/music and then there is this 1 file called music.dat

copy that to your desktop, change the filename from dat to mp3 and you got the whole soundtrack (not just songs) from the entire game. (its 1 big file)

  • Nice ! :O

  • I am forever in your debt!

Is there a way to view the play list?

I need to listen to it one by one.

  • sorry, but i think the only way to make it into a playlist is to bring the file into a music editing program like audacity (its free) and then split the file where the file plays a new track so to say. Or you could just trash the whole soundtrack file and get youtube downloader, then you can just download the songs seperately from youtube.

  • I see. Well thank you for replying.

  • catchy beat thanks for posting much thanks
