I am 72. I changed gender 34 years ago. Previous to that, I had tried for 17 years to make psychiatrists and doctors believe in me. Thankfully there is now more understanding and children like this do not run up against the prejuduce that some of the commentators here display. They also display great ignorance, but then how would anyone, happy in their gender ever really understand this phenomenom. Changing sex is never satisfactory, but it enables victims to lead a happier life.

i am 23 year old, and I have a sister who is 3 years younger than I am. She thought that she was a boy since very early age, She refused to be dressed like girls, and never played with dolls.
She preferred short hair, and played with my toys. she used to get so angry when I call her "girl". when my parents got her a new earnings, she refused to wear them, and after one day of having them on her ears, she took one of them off, and brought a stone and smashed it.
anyway, when she was 6, she went to girls school, and she started to accept herself the way she is. and she started to have more normal life as a girl, and started to be more girlish. But she never had girls toys, and we used to play together common games. But mostly, we used to play King of Fighters in PS all the time, since 1999 till now ! :D
She is now 20 years old, and a happy lady, she is studying IT. And she is looking foreword to getting married and having children.

I used to think that at that age only the parents could be the reason a child would be transgendered. I take psychology, and many theories support that. Now I'm not so sure. Hailey seems to have found herself without the parents pushing her in one direction, they seem so lovely. And if a person is transgendered, the earlier (well, just pre-puberty really) they acknowledge the better, making it easier to transition.

@ichmalealsobinich Oh, that's no good. Unless you are talking about hormone therapy, body-altering surgeries are not recommended until the body has reached its full growth.
For example, eyesight-correcting surgeries are recommended to people over the age of 21, because then the body won't grow unpredictably around the correction.
Same for major surgery like gender-correction. If you make a vagina on an 11 yr old, then the body will grow but the vagina won't, and she'll be stuck with a tiny one.

You know, very recently I've came across more and more accepting, intelligant people. Just all of a sudden. It's even being taught in class rooms now that there's more to your gender than what's down there. Rarely are people just blatently ignoring the FACT that there is a difference in the brains of these people, for example me as a transman, I have a brain more physiologically structured as a male brain. There is actual proof. For the people that can't see that, they need to wake the fuck up.
i think children should be accepted for who they want to be. they are going to grow up with people, who as children wont see anything wrong with someone dressing the way the other gender does, so they will grow up accepting. when someone starts dressing different when theyre older, it surprises the others, who are not used to it.

So for God sake, let him live as a boy, and accept himself the way he is.
We don't choose if we have black skin or white skin, we can't change our eyes colors, and we don't choose our parents, country, or being rich.
Similarely, we don't choose our gender, so just let him away from any girlish things, and put him in boys elementary school. Let him see how happy other boys are the way they are, so he would understand that he is a boy, and going to have a great things in the future ! :)

i am 23 year old, and I have a sister who is 3 years younger than I am. She thought that she was a boy since very early age, She refused to be dressed like girls, and never played with dolls.
She preferred short hair, and played with my toys. she used to get so angry when I call her "girl". when my parents got her a new earnings, she refused to wear them, and after one day of having them on her ears, she took one of them off, and brought a stone and smashed it.

anyway, when she was 6, she went to girls school, and she started to accept herself the way she is. and she started to have more normal life as a girl, and started to be more girlish. But she never had girls toys, and we used to play together common games. But mostly, we used to play King of Fighters in PS all the time, since 1999 till now ! :D
She is now 20 years old, and a happy lady, she is studying IT. And she is looking foreword to getting married and having children.

I used to think that at that age only the parents could be the reason a child would be transgendered. I take psychology, and many theories support that. Now I'm not so sure. Hailey seems to have found herself without the parents pushing her in one direction, they seem so lovely. And if a person is transgendered, the earlier (well, just pre-puberty really) they acknowledge the better, making it easier to transition.

Any "living" government revises their laws when they become obsolete. Therefore you can find amendments to even the Constitution.
The problem with your (your people's) constitution is that when it is revised, it's to update the translation. The base material doesn't change to keep up with the needs of the people.
i.e. the bible still has that bit about not eating pork and not touching women who are menstruating, and other things that NOW seem silly.

For example, eyesight-correcting surgeries are recommended to people over the age of 21, because then the body won't grow unpredictably around the correction.
Same for major surgery like gender-correction. If you make a vagina on an 11 yr old, then the body will grow but the vagina won't, and she'll be stuck with a tiny one.

@Delfedd i understand your point, and yeah, her chromosones are male, but research has been done before, when you look at transexuals brains, even ones that have had no hormones, their brains are in proportion to their gender. Her sex is male - right now there is no medical treatment to change that, but her gender is female. The point of hormone treatment is to allign body with mind, so no, it didnt make him a woman :)

@5:36 the father cries and asks who is going to love my child. I am a well adjusted normal aircraft engineer and I have fallen in love with a transgender woman. In my opinion transgender women make the best women as they have had to fight for womanhood and not been gifted it. We all appretiate more that which we fought for more than gifted. If I want children then I will adopt.

You know, very recently I've came across more and more accepting, intelligant people. Just all of a sudden. It's even being taught in class rooms now that there's more to your gender than what's down there. Rarely are people just blatently ignoring the FACT that there is a difference in the brains of these people, for example me as a transman, I have a brain more physiologically structured as a male brain. There is actual proof. For the people that can't see that, they need to wake the fuck up.

i think children should be accepted for who they want to be. they are going to grow up with people, who as children wont see anything wrong with someone dressing the way the other gender does, so they will grow up accepting. when someone starts dressing different when theyre older, it surprises the others, who are not used to it.

I think it's bull****. I defenitely would love to raise a child, who does feel like beeing in the wrong body, or like beeing sure to be the other gender. But I guess, the child wouldn't stand a chance against me, as a grown up! This is my personal believe, no scientific assumption. I consider myself something similar as buddhists are constituted.

My 15 year old cousin Janell, shes transsexual (male-to-female), her sex = male cause she was born in the wrong body, boys body and her gender = female, what she indentified herself as, and plus when she was a boy, she NEVER EVER looked anything like a boy, you wouldve never known she was born a boy, my cousin knew she felt she was a woman but now my cousin is livin her life was the beautiful young lady she is, my cousin had a supportin mom, my aunt.

And kids can actually get hormone treatments a lot earlier now than before, because doctors are getting more aware of it being a bigger problem if their hormones actually do get to pop against the child's feeling of gender. Whether you believe in god or not...we all know that unfortunately many babies are born with problems such as brain problems, without out some limbs, blind, deaf etc. Being born with a brain in the wrong gender is no different.
And being homosexual has got NOTHING to do with this. If you are a transgender, you can be either homosexual or hetrosexual.
