This is interesting, considering that a 'Christian' band would take the same music played by a band inspired by the devil and use the very same demonic music, and just change the lyrics... you cannot take from the table of the Lord and the table of devils guys, dont be fooled.

Seeing the music is not "DEMONIC" only the words to the songs. How can you say they are wrong for bringing the Music back to the one who gave the original artists the talents to create the music in the first place. Just because someone uses their GOD given talents to serve the devil doesn't mean that GOD can not reuse that same music to serve HIM. Don't you know that there are church hymns that started out as secular songs once. and i mean old hymns.

Apologetix can be sooo easily misunderstood. But as in Ro.8:28 "we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." I love music and all styles and forms. mostly the 70's. But I truly love what they have done in their Parodies and I enjoy them so much more than the ORIGINALS. My Top 5 Faves: Dropping on the Son; Sound of Silas; I walk alone(greenday parody); hotel cant afford ya(?); and Bethlehem Rhapsody.

It would seem to me that japguy360 has a prejudiced view of free expression. The original artist have a right to express what they believe but this band can not express their views and set it to someone else's music. Come on its not like they are destroying the original. Its not so much the video that is a bother to me...just the basis behind the band's

"music". As stated before, i have no problem with your video and i said none of the sort. I was simply venting because i am just appalled at changing something because "some" people can't accept other peoples expressions. that's all.

The video, on the other hand, shows your expression and just as i would like to express mine so should you. i just had hoped that certain musicians would write their own stuff.

I listen to music of all sorts and part take in multiple events in various locations. I see the off stage and on stage shows at first hand. Then talk to the members of the group and ask them what inspires them to do what they do. Its who they are and their expression of beliefs and passions. Just because someone has a different thought than you doesnt mean you have the right to go back and change it to fit yours...

I believe that they use parodies to famous songs to get listeners. I'm impressed at how close they can come to sounding like the original, and if anything it's almost praising (not in a godly way) the original band that they had such a great song that it made apologetix want to use it to make a parody to spread the word of God. Its not meant to be offensive.

I agree they probably use the songs to get listeners. The band does not seem to slam the songss or bands, in fact they seem to stay true to the sound. My heart is saddened though by those who have posted making reference to how the original lyrics are somehow not virtuous (esp. on a different video than this one.)

Just enjoy and try not to judge without truly knowing. And enjoy the videos. Good Job, Pilgrimpictures,and I admire your responses which are gentle and kind. ^_^

and the message does have good points. however, what I am simply saying is it slanders the freedom of expression. If someone wants to praise God then so be it. But keep in mind people would be upset if someone decided to make an song called "our dog is an awesome dog". then the whole thing would just go full circle like evolution vs creation, etc.

If music is an art let it take form. I dont see why people can't be more original is all...

I am glad Apologetix feels it is nobel to do as they do. Perhaps it would be different if this was the ONLY song changed. But it's not. They did not intend on being a parody band. It just happend and now lots of different songs are changed to fit a more "PG version". why? the rest of the world isnt PG and people have different ways of expression.

Let's say you paint a portrait. You find it to be beautiful. You like how it looks. Therefore, you go and display it in a gallery. Then a month later the canvas is pulled from the wall and someone paints over it. You ask him what he is doing and he turns to you saying it is flawed. He places it back up on the wall. The whole portrait is altered. Most of it is the same but you can still see little differences.

But it wasnt his work, was it? and as he walks away you finally ask him what he has done. and he turns to you and says "oh, its all for God's glory". But was it really?

well....honestly Freddy Mercury WAS a good guy with a more than rather exceptional vocal talent. He made the original to this song out of his heart and soul about something he was personally going through.

Now flash forward almost half a century and people are entitled to slander someones speech with fickle thoughts of religion? is it because of the lyrics?

Its madness, insanity, and a slap in the face. God gave all members of Queen musical talents and prejudice people can't accept that...sad.

At least with Apologetix, they clearly appreciate the original (here, being Freddy) as they do his whole song, and are faithful in the re-interpretation. Unlike other contemporary artists, who just steal two-measures and mix it into their work as if it's THEIRS.

Yeah... I use to think that Wierd Al was the master of musical imitation, but the more of these guys' songs I hear, the more I am impressed that they have surpassed Wierd Al's ability. They are VERY good. Some of the lyrics are a little hammy (say, "forced"), but they're sold out. I respect that too.
