  • how true is his words what he saids is all true life is noting but a black joke noting more there no point there reason we live to die noting more

  • LOVE THIS<3

  • Doctor?

  • he has a point. very true

  • love this speech, Alan Moore is a genius!

  • Great voice work and video. Especially like the part where Joker says 'Something like that happenned to me.' as if he can remember and feels a degree of remorse.

  • Nothing. No name. No dental. No fingerprints. No other alias. Nothing in his pockets but knives and lint.

  • "When I saw what a black joke the world was i went, i admit it. You must see the reality of the situation, its all a joke! Everything anybody ever valued or struggled for...it's all a monstrous demented gag. So, why arent you laughing?"

Because something like that happened to ME. I'm sure what it was. I don't wan't to see the funny side, because the day I do, I will start laughing and I won't be able to stop...

  • This video is amazing it shows who the joker really is. it shows that he went through ,so much it ruined him. this makes me fell sorry for him. i understand him the sad thing is he is correct about all of this. i cried. it's one of those scenes that shows you something that opens your heart it makes u question youerself i fell sorry for joker.

  • Sir, can you do the "Remembering's dangerous. I find the past such a worrying, anxious place." speech of The Joker?

  • You know what's truly sad about this?

    Joker is 100% correct.

  • You've got the tone and pattern of Hamill's Joker down very well.

  • Joker is right

  • why aren't you laughing

fuck that i'm crying this monologue just kills me

maybe it's the sheer reality of what he says or maybe it's arkham city

  • after seeing this again this thought came to my mind

    ARKHAM CITY HOW COULD YOU

    then i cried

  • Absolutely fantastic.

  • My best friend thought this was boring.............. DOCTOROGNEAOCTOBUS!!! BLARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @galacticman123 u mean doctor octogonapus

  • This is really good, it reminds me of Tim Burton's claymation movies a bit. :3

  • Holy crap... That was all kinds of awesome.

  • He looks like he's dancing to thriller in this video. Especially at 1:07

  • i have to admit, this was pretty good.

  • This is the only moment I can recall Joker being philosophical on the ideal of Madness.

  • Congratulations! You have succesfully spent $3,475 on a video that is only less than 3 minutes long!!

  • @galacticman123 I would have payed.

  • @galacticman123

He did all the work himself so i doubt he paid that much. Youtube gives .5 cent per sub annually not to mention the view count payment and publicity.

  • My top 3 favorite things with this video

    1.The killing joke itself

    2. The demented faces

    3. The joker

  • Maybe the reason why Joker dosn't have a past is becasue he suffers from amnesia

  • @medalgear654 No, it's... a "joke" between the writers of the comic. They were never in agreement to what Joker's official past would be. Now see the irony in Joker's thoughts on it.

  • @TheCreatorOf4 Killing joke dude. Who cares if there isnt a defined story. What makes joker intimidating is his mystery. Past and present. You don't know who he is. Batman wishes he does. You don't know what he is thinking behind his smile. Batman wishes he does. If we all had known a long time ago who he was, the fear he induces would be gone. What i liked about the killing joke was he was a chemical engineer. I never did understand how "some guy" could engineer strange scientific weaponry.

  • @cyber151 Ya well, you do care that he doesn't have a defined story... for reasons you explained.

But you just explained a fundamental truth; the less ignorant you are the less frighting it is.

  • @medalgear654 He remembers just fine...he just wants multiple choice.

  • fucking. excellent.

  • Batman: Because I've heard it before, and it wasn't funny the first time.

  • What's the song used at the beginning?

  • @MrTHXUs It's from Batman Returns. Not sure what it's specifically called but it plays when the penguin dies.

  • @Veyron722skyhook ya its just part of the score by Danny Elfman

  • Batman didn't expect all that lagg.

  • @jwhit3d Is that pgirts?

  • @xxxOUTBURSTxxx He say's that it is in the video's description.

  • @KeizerXilian Sorry about that;I should have looked. But thanks for telling me,anyway.

  • Mark Hamill has said that if they ever made an animated version of Kiling Joke that he'd be willing to do it even though he is retired. I really hope it happens.

  • @captainawesome830 If not him, this guy. He is gold, I'm shocked WB hasn't even discovered him yet.

  • @novaeligible its not his impression he just made the video for it read his description the impression is by Pgirts

  • there should be one with the batman speech at the beginning. but i love the one bad day line

  • @VariousArtists2 Who said that?

  • "If I'm going to have a past I prefer it to be multiple choice hehhehhehhehheh."

  • I dont get it

  • This is really amazing. I loved watching this last night and even your other one of the more full motion-comic continuation of this scene. You got everything right, I think. Joker not only looks amazing, but also sounds and acts like him from the TAS. I almost thought the soundtrack in the background was original from the TAS. Cudos to your sound director too! xD

  • This is an amazing tribute to one of the most iconic Batman stories. Its a fresh breath of air compared to the other attempts to adapt Alan Moore's work.

  • Dang that sent chills down my spine. This has got to be a movie.

This was very well done, and the voice acting was very creepy, yet you hung on his every word. 10/10

  • i heard that the only reason Hamill would come back as the joker would be if this became a movie

  • @CammyWho10 Well that or animated movie. They make tons of those a year. So that possibility can be pretty high. It would be awesome.

  • You're a video good voice actor, you'd be great to replace the Joker. But you wouldn't be for this book. The reason is Mark Hammil said he would only come back for more Arkham games or an animated version of the Killing Joke.

  • Joker looks like Elvis... Strange?? :O

  • Amazing! Pure amazing! I would have jizzed my paints if that was all you. Those lines are so...so enlightening! congrads on such a amazing video sir.

  • YES! DO THE ENTIRE BOOK!!!!

  • @fakesmith797 I'd pay to hear it done.

  • this is really good. Incidentally, Mark Hamill has apparently said he's return to voice Joker only for The Killing Joke.

  • Comment removed

  • I read the book and it made me want to see this video, then I saw the video and it made me want to read the book, then I just read the book now I want to watch this again.

  • Looks like a cut scene from a batman game for PS1.

    A GOOD batman game.

  • awesome

  • the best graphic novel that ive ever read!

  • this is so deep it's depressing. especially thet "why aren't you laughing"- bit at the end. cause i restrospect he does have a point. the world is mostly a big black joke.

  • i cryed when joker died it was so sad and what batman was killing me when he said "want to hear a joke? after all you did i wouldve saved you" and joker murdered me with sadness when he said "ya that is pretty funny" and died laughing.....i guess all of life is a joke...........

  • It almost makes you think...

  • @Randomeiser100 You should read the book, spoilers but,Batman proves Joker is alone, there may be others like him but the world has good in it. After Gordon being tortured by Joker in some of the worst ways possible,he stays sane,he's a good person. There is always a bright side.

  • @VariousArtists2

That's such a brilliant quote! Who originally said it?

  • He does have a lot of arguments on his side. When Ledger was preparing for the Joker role he wrote a list of things the Joker would find funny, and at the top of that list was AIDS.

  • Bravo!!! Beautiful!!!!

  • Dude, that was great. Perfect animation to go with the vocals.

  • Now, the Dark Knight makes a bit more sense.

  • "There's nothing more terrifying than a monster that makes perfect sense."

  • This man is a genious. This world is sick, and disgusting. Every time

I look at current events, I puke. Its all just a sick fucking joke...

  • everytime I listen to this it makes me wanna cry

  • I wish i could find the worlds for this

  • The Joker is a coward - both he and Batman had a 'bad day'; when their innocence was stolen and they saw the ugly of the world. Batman however didn't succumb to it; he still saw hope and the good in people and rose above his tragedy to become a force of justice...it didn't push him over the edge, it only made him stronger. The Joker however lost his mind; his tragedy warped him into a pitiful monster because he couldn't handle it: transforming into the embodiment of a 'bad day'.

  • @Shiek927 Plus, if the world is so terrible, why doesn't Joker just kill himself?

  • @Darktroller2 Well, in the Dark Knight at least, he wanted to prove to everyone that everyone deep down was as ugly as he was; that ordinary people can easily snap with one 'bad day' as he did, and thus, morals/codes/rules/etc are actually meaningless, giving way to chaos and anarchy...

  • But he's wrong; just because he easily snapped doesn't mean others do; nor does that justify his crimes to force people over the edge and into his hole... because others can and will rise above it. He's just a pitiful clown whose tragedy put him in a black pit and he wants the rest of the world to join in his madness...because he failed to see that there was still infinite beauty and good in the world, and that's worth believing in, and worth fighting for.

  • @Shiek927 In the comic Joker went through a lot, it's not too accurate as joker says he can't a hundred percent know what happened, and he is the one narrating the tale. though in this version, his wife was pregnant, they were broke as he couldn't make anyone laugh, decided to rob a place for his child and wife, the robbery was going to be fruitless as they both died anyways, he still had to rob the place, and to capitalize, Batman screwed up and made him that way.

  • @Darktroller2 He needs Batman to do it... to brake his "one rule" and corrupt the un-corruptible... that and I think he's having too much fun causing chaos...

  • @Darktroller2 Joker finds the world terrible; but he's learned to enjoy it.

  • @Shiek927 The difference? Bruce Wayne had fabulous wealth and a loving butler/father figure. Joker had nothing, lost everything in a sick twist of fate like a joke, and realized how fragile and pathetic everything was. Doesn't excuse what he does, but to call him a 'coward' because he didn't have the advantages Batman did is unfair. Heck, look at what Joker made of himself afterwards! Not to mention he may be right that Batman is insane himself, just too much of a coward to admit it.

  • Roflmao, those are just excuses....No amount of wealth can bring back the dead, and regardless of how powerful his family is, they were still shot which scared Bruce the rest of his life; Bruce was in no way better or worse then the Joker....Bruce however didn't shy away - he used his means and money to become more then the playboy he pretended to be - he vowed to never let what happened to him happen to anyone else; he became hero, and THAT is the difference.

  • The joker didn't have money or wealth...so what? He would have be a hero in his own right simply by carrying on and not letting his family's death bring him down; but still living life as best he could. None of those superficial things are "advantages"; The Joker could have have become a police officer or activist or...heck, he could have just lived and moved on, and that's heroic in itself.

Instead, he went mad and wanted the same for everybody else...no excuses.

  • @Shiek927 No better or no worse? He still had family in Alfred, he still had his home, his lineage, his name. He had enough wealth to buy him education and training and fund his own crazed war on crime. If Joker had had what Bruce had, he doubtfully would have ended up the way he did... (Largely because he would have never had to become red hood at ALL! but thats quibbling).

  • @Shiek927 Granted, if Bruce had lost all his money on that night and never had Alfred, he probably wouldn't have become like Joker (now, maybe if he had been horribly scarred and disfigured, maybe), but he would never have become a hero like Batman. He likely would have grown up a broken person just living in a crazy world. So no, Joker isn't a coward because he didn't become a hero. He's just what he is based on what happened to him. Atleast that's MY view, for what its worth.

  • I understand your view, but you are placing way too much value in superficial things and underestimating the human spirit - Bruce, even without all that money and resources, still could have become a police officer or politician or something if he wanted to fight crime...hell, even if he didn't, again, simply by not giving in and living a normal happy life...he would have perservered over his tragedy just by doing that.

  • Bruce equally could have gone mad and used on his resources to easily become a new crime lord in Gotham....his name, his money, all of these things don't matter - it's what's inside that count.

Shit happens, sometimes on a level people could never imagine, that's life...what matters is how you deal with it; you either let your sorrows bring you down or you rise above it - Bruce did, the Joker didn't.

  • The Joker voice was nigh-flawless - it sounds just like Mark Hamill

  • how long did this take to make

  • (In Kevin Conroy's voice) Because I've heard it before.

  • This speech was kick ass, felt like he was speaking the truth, we are all just one bad day away. But I guess thats human nature

  • this is the best one of all the killing joke monologues top work done in zbrush the joker model?

  • Wow, that was a really good Hamill Joker impression.

  • What is the name of the song playing with the video??

  • who voices this? this is really good

  • i want to see the continuation of this cuz there is an action part where joker laughs really hard...which i like/

  • This is awesome. Please make more.

  • i truly hope that they never make up or reveal jokers real origins, it destroys the beauty and mystery of the joker...

  • He's right you know..

  • the person who voiced Joker in this video does a GREAT Mark Hamill. He's captured so many subtle nuances in his voice. I had trouble deciding whether or not it WAS Mark Hamill, it was so accurate. However, when the laugh came, I was certain it wasn't Hamill. No one can do that laugh. :)

Props to the voice actor, Pgirts

  • @Bidmartinlo *spoilers* In the actual book,Batman shows Joker he's wrong,Commissioner Gorden went through all that and he's still sane. But yeah,it depends on the person,Batman shows Joker it's just him,he's alone and insane.

  • Gets insane for one bad day? A bit weak. I mean, people IRL have a lot of bad days (usually mondays). Who hasen't had people close to them, die? Who hasen't had problems with their health? And who isn't seen as a criminal to few madmen?

I would say the Joker got it the otherway around. That the people who feel pains of this world, is more sane than the ones who haven't. Of course, it depends on the person. -.-

  • @Bidmartinlo If you haven't read The Killing Joke then I can see where you're coming from, but Joker's "bad day" is a really, really bad day. I'd rather not spoil it for you, especially since the entire book can be found online very easily, but yeah stacking the fact that he was an unstable person even before becoming the Joker on top of his pretty horrendous "bad day" makes it pretty clear that all it really does take is one event that is bad enough to push you over the edge.

  • Wow, that was pretty good. :D

  • this monologue must have been the concept for THE DARK KNIGHT

  • That's the best Joker voice I ever heard, gotta admit.

  • gotta admit Mark Hamill's joker's voice is the one that sticks the most.

  • Not bad I must say, a bit too cartoony IMO but really not bad.

  • Joker: "...So why can't you see the funny side? Why aren't you laughing?"

    Batman: "Because... I'm Batman!"

  • @AnonymousSpriter Because I heard it before...and it wasnt funny the first time

  • IN 3D!!!!!!!! sorry it's a habit

  • ...Because I've heard it before... and it wasn't funny the first time.

  • so true so true

  • That was sooo good! My fave graphic novel, ftw.

  • God the killing joke is so well written

  • @SuperMicklovin one of my favorites by Alan Moore and the art by Bolland is amazing , my buddies covet my first printing "green" edition I have stashed in my comic collection.

  • @WillowTheUmbreon happy B-Day Dude!!

  • Really good video!

  • I actually thought Mark was the one doing the voice at the start o.O props to your man

  • Pgirts was pretty amazing... reading was EXCEPTIONAL. Very much sounded like Mark Hamill.

  • great

  • Well done, I loved it

  • The music fits perfectly too

  • Comment removed

  • LOLWUT? this was pointed on my birthday! :D

  • holy crap, its michael jackson!

  • this is awesome

  • The reading was superb! So much "soul"... which I astonishingly missed when I simply read the graphic novel.

  • Now do the whole thing...PLEASE

  • I love this monologue

  • that was a phenomenal reading, the guy doing the voice was spot on and the acting was perfect, and for being relatively simple the visuals looked pretty good. Good show, sir.

  • Because I've heard it BEFORE...and it wasn't funny THE FIRST TIME!!!

  • Jimmy Neutron

  • Do more! Do More!

  • JESUS!!! this was made perfectly

  • that was*sniff* beautiful

  • Dude your impression is incredible. I would swear Mark Hamill was doing this himself.

  • @jcallahan9 Just so you know, it's Pgirts voice. jwhit3d only did the animation.

  • I love this so goddamn much.

  • whats the name of the song? :o

  • @DRAGONIOUS7

It's "The Finale"(part 1) from the batman returns soundtrack.

  • search for "tunel del tormento" in youtube and you will see that is similar coincidentally with this

  • I am surprise that 3d animation are replacing actors, acting died with good old actors and old school acting..? - no actor can be better than this 3 d character..?

  • quite the performance, my friend. you're one hell of a voice actor

  • @Godzillarulz Its Mark Hamill

  • @JoeRobot17 No it isn't

  • @playtoyx yes it is. look: /watch?v=qa0R_2K9iec

  • @JoeRobot17 It's an impression of Mark. The person openly admits it. it's even in his tags.

  • @playtoyx (sigh) I know this. I meant that the original is mark-_-

  • WOW THAT WAS DEEP!!!!

  • @iskandalous That's what she said! And yeah, actually. Kind of sad, because he's not so far off the truth. And all the Joker wants is to make Batman laugh, just once. xD

  • "Because I’ve heard it all before…and it wasn’t funny the first time."

  • This made me feel sad for Joker.....Don't get me wrong.I love the Joker. He's my all time favorite character of anything and in a way I look up to him and admire him.So naturally I dont really feel pity for him,but this......just amazing.Great job.

  • The Animation is really Good and good choice for the killing joke monologue.

  • Wow.

  • The CG is pretty good, but good god that voice acting is amazing.

  • Very very impressive. It nearly convinces you that it's really Mark Hamill doing it.

  • really cool

  • sad musikk + joker+jokes = very god

  • 1:26 Michael Jackson

  • The Joker made sense.... Go figure.

  • "Something like that i bet, something like that...(so dramatic & sad music starts )something like that happened to me, you know...I'm not exactly sure what it was? sometimes i remember it in one way, sometimes in another" that part almost make me cry... i cant believe it

  • This guy does an awesome impression of Hamill, I do a pretty good impression of Ledger's Joker (voice only)

  • I liked this. Loved the Killing Joke, and despite what people say how "simple and bland" it is, I'd like to see them to try what you've done. Did you do the voice of the Joker too? If so, hot damn that was awesomely done! and i liked the little things in your animation, the subtle movements or erratic gestures that went with how you said the Joker's monologue. Consider this faved!

  • That was beautiful,I'm actually going to cry.
