Peavey HP Special - Guitar World Review

this guitar seems like a rip off, i mean its a custom shop guyitar, yet it comes with a licensed floyde and its bolt on. plus the tone/volume knobs look like a bad choice if they r also coil taps.

@D1rtySanchezZ1 sorry, but you seem pretty ignorant. There are plenty of guitars that have those same features that cost much more than this guitar. The licensed floyd part is pretty normal for this quality of a guitar. And why does a bolt on neck mean that a guitar is a rip-off? Custom shop strats and teles have bolt on necks. If you don't like the knobs, replace them.

Wow - Peavey should of named this guitar the "Wolfgang II." I have a 2002 Peavey EVH Wolfgang, and there are so many similarities it is scary. This guitar came from the Wolfgang and the sound is exactly the same. If you were blindfolded listening, you could not tell the two guitars apart. The only major difference is the HP Special (now) costs half the price of the Fender EVH Wolfgang does,it does not have EVH's name or headstock on it, or the adjustable block on the floyd rose bridge.

Hey Paul, great playing with a great guitar.

I just bought my 1st peavey guitar a little over 6 months ago but i haven' t been able to find any review on it.. i own a custom shop Peavey Jack Daniels EX, i think it's a high quality guitar with kick ass sound, would anybody be able to review this or at least give me a run around of the possibilities with that guitar?? i have been playing for about 10 year on and off but lack alot of practice.. i guess i am just curiouse to see what it can do. Ah HEM! Err, the Peavey Floyd Rose is considered to be as good as if not better than an original Floyd Rose. They r manufactured by Schaller, probably the best Floys Rose licensee company, & certainly do not "wear at the pivot point". This is a load of rubbish. Peavey Custom Shop guitars are expensive for a reason- they're amazingly high quality instruments! I have a Wolfgang & now an HP CT! They're my favorite guitars on the planet. Fender? Who are they? :O)

Sounds like a fun guitar to play and Peavy really made those p/u's great.Personally I love good tremolo harmonics no matter what the other old farts like myself say here and I love EVH' music and always have so him demonstrating a tremolo system doesn't bother me;the 90's sucked because for some fucked up reason all the sudden it was better to not play intensely or solo which I thought was crap but you know every generation has to come up with something to be against.

I love this guitar, but it reminds me of what I did when I got my very first electric guitar. It was like a toy with the bar and all the harmonics. It was a Martin Stinger, so I abused it a lot the entire time I had it.

Its from the "custom shop" so its definitely overpriced and its so amazing that they use a "licensed Floyd." ANY guitar that costs more than $500 and uses ANYTHING BUT A REAL FLOYD IS A RIPOFF. A fake Floyd WILL eventually wear at the pivot point causing it to refuse to stay in tune. Love this dudes tests by the way. He knows his shit and can definitely play

I have a peavey exp limited. and it is really awesome great for van halen sound like this one. Has a hipshot instead of tremolo so you can tune it down easier.

Get the HP signature EXP. Awesome guitar for the price. You can get one for $350-$400 on ebay or $560 new. It is a professional quality guitar and even has nice pickups. Read the reviews on harmony central.
