I think that orthodox doctrine of hades dishonours the name of God, it says that God is either incompetent or immoral. A competent, moral God would do all that was necessary to avoid any separation from humanity or to restore that relationship i.e take everyone to heaven. Better to have destroyed the world before anyone could go to a hades-start again.

Yes, if you look at it logically there is no god. Although I am an athiest, I know that Christians (and Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc) do not base their belief on fact. They base it on the fact that, as humans, we are naturally uncertain about and thus afraid of death, the future, and anything else unknown. Some people get over that fear through finding the science behind those things, and some people get over that fear through a belief in a higher power.

What our grandparents died for in Industrial Schools is for nothing because of this. At some "schools", the mortality rate was one in every three Native youths. They were beaten because they did not want to be "white". They were beaten because they spoke their own language. They DID NOT want to be white, and held to their ways. i'm a christian and i base my beliefs upon fact - the facts found within the bible. jesus' presence on earth and his actions here have 30x more historical accuracy than the existence of caeasar.
atheists base their ultimate beliefs or lack of them on theories just as much as anyone else. science could never explain the unknown just as science can only provide the HOW but never the WHY. it never provides a reason behind the miraculous world we live in merely tries to explain how it works.

The problem is only when one group of people, athiests included, tries to force its beliefs on others. The best thing to do is not to promote your beliefs, but to promote nonviolence and acceptance of others' beliefs, whether Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, pagan or satanist.

Yes, if you look at it logically there is no god. Although I am an athiest, I know that Christians (and Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc) do not base their belief on fact. They base it on the fact that, as humans, we are naturally uncertain about and thus afraid of death, the future, and anything else unknown. Some people get over that fear through finding the science behind those things, and some people get over that fear through a belief in a higher power.

Statistics show the more educated an individual, the less likely they are to be religious or believe in a god. 72% of the National Academy of Sciences members have a 'personal disbelief in god' and another 20% claim 'doubt or agnosticism'. 850,000,000 people around the world are Atheist, Agnostic or Non-Religious. That's more than 1 out of 10 people, making up the 4th largest belief group. Less than 1% of the US prison population is 'atheist'. Does make you wonder why :-)

You don't understand it. Everybody lies, everybody does things God doesn't want us to do. Thats because we are sinners. This would mean that everyone on earth would go to hell. But not everybody goes to hell! When we feel sorry about what we had done, we can ask the Lord for forgiveness. God can forgive our sins because Jesus took them when He died for us. This means that when we feel sorry about the bad things we did en when we ask for forgiveness, God will show mercy and we can go to heaven.

a christian is still a human being; they are not perfect. If it seems like they are "imposing" on non christians it is not the desired reaction, believe me. Our God teches and encourages some of us to "evangelise"; share our faith, because God loves everyone and wants them to be a part of his kingdom.

If you talk to these people who are "imposing" on you, i'm sure, if they are truly christian, they will be very apologetic for any offence; but i do agree with you, as a christian; it is unfair to force a religion on people, and i for one try to avoid it- if someone asks to know about the Gospel, i will tell them all i know, but if they blantantly do not want to know, it is not our place to judge them.

i think it's completely and utterly wrong, personally.
but thats beside the point; tell me, if there is an argument for something (as you are, i assume, for gay marriage) how can it be an argument if there isn't an opposition to it?
also, just because my opinion is based on that of God, why should you take any notice of it? Your opinion is based on... you. so, that means, to turn it around, you are "forcing" yourself on people...hence, i am not forcing anything on anyone, and never will.

no, i dont think thats what they were implying, they were saying, you dont have to have a good voice to be able to sing and praise God, but even christian singers dont only sing for God.
