When we ring up a copy of a used cop of a game, battlefield 3 for instance, we get a prompt from our POS informing us to inform the customer that this "exclusive" content or online pass has been used and they must purchase the game new or purchase the content seprate from the game to use it.

I don't ever remember Gamestop telling me that the exclusive content would come in a pre-owned game. A matter of fact every time I buy a used game that came with exclusive content when it was released, they inform me I will have to get the content from the PSN or XBOX Live. Case in point: Battlefield 3. I have over heard dumbass customers griping about having to pay for multiplayer in Battlefield 3. However I've heard GS employees tell customers that if they but pre-owned they have to pay.
A way to get back at gamestop is NEVER buy new games unless you know for a fact your keeping the game, if not ALWAYS buy used games because within a week you can return it for your FULL money back and re buy it again for an extra week to play and still get your FULL money back within a week your pretty much abusing their system ;)

Here is another one for ya. Gamestop empolyees have been ordered many times to remove most or all the DLC from new sealed games. I found this out from several Gs employees that are friends of mine ,and they directed me to order it online from several other source other than GS if I want the DLC to come with a new copy.

Any of the games that have an online pass are priced cheaper used than ones that don't because of that. When they are recent games instead of being $54.99 they are $47.99. It makes them only $2 cheaper than new on most of them if you have to buy the online pass unless you have their discount card. Any games that use an online code and aren't priced cheaper is because there are replacement codes that print on the receipt, aka you don't have to buy it.

I buy used games all the time. This is an old fight that developers use to try and stop you from buying a game for what it probably should have been in the first place... 10 bucks. Steam is a great example of reducing games. If developers dropped the price on their games to 10 bucks after a certain amount of time I would buy directly from them but when COD4 for PS3 is still 20+ bucks at Gamestop why should I pay that? I'll buy it used for even less and get the SAME experience.

If i took the full price of each game and cut it in half then multiplied it by the number of games, 140$ still would be nowhere near the amount of money spent on the games. You have to realize, when you buy a game, you´re not really buying the game. You´re buying a license, a permission to use/play the game, so to speak. You´re not allowed to do with it whatever you want, let alone selling it. Licenses are NOT transferable.
I bought Dead Space 2 ( used ) for ps3 from gamestop.
Both the full Dead Space 2 game and Extraction game was included.
The only thing that I couldn't do was play online since the online pass was used.
I think that people should read the back of the game and see what is included and what requires a pass. Because if it requires a pass, it's probably used + gamestop should make it more clear.

Well thing is GameStop refuses to buy back PC games or allow you to return a PC game due to codes. They say since there's a code in them the game is no longer any good.
So why buy back console games? Most games now a days have some type of code in them. Once used no one else can use them, so GameStop shouldn't be allowed to sell them again.

I bought Medal of Honor (2010) for my PS3. It said "Limited Edition" on the cover. So I bought it used because they had no new copies of the limited edition. Any games that use an online code and aren't priced cheaper is because there are replacement codes that print on the receipt, aka you don't have to buy it.

I like gamestop,they have amazing deals on their used games. Like yesterday I got a used copy of oblivion from them and it was all intact, they disc was not scratched at all, and it had the guide and poster inside it (also undamaged)
And I got it for 5 dollars.
You should buy from them, but I do agree they rip you off when you sell your stuff. I once tried to sell my ps2 (Perfectly working) and they were about to give me 2 dollars.
Its better to just sell your games on amazon.com

I buy used games all the time. This is an old fight that developers use to try and stop you from buying a game for what it probably should have been in the first place... 10 bucks. Steam is a great example of reducing games. If developers dropped the price on their games to 10 bucks after a certain amount of time I would buy directly from them but when COD4 for PS3 is still 20+ bucks at Gamestop why should I pay that? I'll buy it used for even less and get the SAME experience.

I once bought ALL Pro Football from gamestop for the ps3 used for 14$. Sold it back to them and got a dollar. Later i saw the game used on the shelf for 17$. Biggest mistakes in gaming i ever made was selling any of my consoles/handhelds. I sold my GameCube and 40 games and got 140$ in cash.

If i took the full price of each game and cut it in half then multiplied it by the number of games, 140$ still would be nowhere near the amount of money spent on the games. Whats worse is that i could take that new number and cut it in half and i'd still come out with more than 140$. Make sense?

Here's the thing dude.. Gamestop IS the game market. In fact it's a HUGE part of the video game market because it's where most video gamers shop and where most video game companies make MOST of they're sales ( this excludes PC gaming) They make better sales by the use of advertisement such as posters and tv commercials. Gamestop has a dealership with certain game companies that let game companies advertise in they're store for free. So about used games,it doesn't affect anyone but the customer..

You have to realize, when you buy a game, you´re not really buying the game. You´re buying a license, a permission to use/play the game, so to speak. You´re not allowed to do with it whatever you want, let alone selling it. Licenses are NOT transferable.

EA and other publishers don´t see a dime from these used game sales. They simply had to accept it, since they couldn´t really do much about it.
When you buy a used game, you´re basically just buying the disk with the game on it, but not the license to play it.
That´s why EA is able to say: "You want to play online? Well, pay us first. Seems like you haven´t done that yet."

I bought Dead Space 2 ( used ) for ps3 from gamestop.
Both the full Dead Space 2 game and Extraction game was included.
The only thing that I couldn't do was play online since the online pass was used.
I think that people should read the back of the game and see what is included and what requires a pass. Because if it requires a pass, it's probably used + gamestop should make it more clear.

Used games are nice when you don't have enough money for a new copy. What bothers me is that they (mainly Gamestop) charge way too much for a newer relaese used game. I mean $55, seriously? I would rather pay $5 more for a new copy! Also they hardly give you anything for it! I really miss Game Crazy! They sold the latest used games for $45 and gave yopu more in trade. Well thing is GameStop refuses to buy back PC games or allow you to return a PC game due to codes. They say since there's a code in them the game is no longer any good.
So why buy back console games? Most games now a days have some type of code in them. Once used no one else can use them, so GameStop shouldn't be allowed to sell them again.
A new game cost $59.99, used is $54.99 WOW you save a whole $5 (if that), buy new and make sure you get everything.

I bought Medal of Honor (2010) for my PS3. It said "Limited Edition" on the cover. So I bought it used because they had no new copies of the limited edition. If the "Limited editions" don't have the codes, why the fuck put them on the shelves when you can buy a regular version new for less than a used limited version. Anyways, fuck Gamestop.

(where I live is 180$) so I asked how much I would get for the copy I wanted to sell. They told me 10$. I asked why and they said it was because it was an old game. Really, that class action lawsuit is stupid. Gamestop isn't putting the labels on games saying "Free DLC" most of the time its on the package. If your buy a preowned game and expect the DLC to be part of it, Then your pretty stupid. I bought Halo Reach used on the bottom is stats "Bonus Spartan Recon Helmet" The manufacture printed that on the package, I knew that it wasn't coming in the box. Sometimes I wonder if people really are that F'ing stupid. Or if they just want easy money.
