Ya know i always had a theory behind the damage and healing system in chain of memories, that for example a cure 9 would heal for 41 points since its card points =41 and like kingdom key 9 would do 19 points of damage. Just beat this today, and really, it's a crying shame what they did to Marluxia in Re:CoM. It really is. If you do the makeshift Proud Mode (not adding HP), the original is really fun and challenging :) Marluxia can practically kill you with his forward-step-fade attack if you're not at full HP, which makes you REALLY watch what you're doing, which is just... awesomely fun. But anyone can beat this guy in the remake, and I was disappointed when all I had to do was spam 'X' >_>

@jr91096 Once you beat the game the first time, you unlocked a new mode. If you beat that mode, you are then able to collect some new cards on your previous save file.
However, that is all you can really do. You -can- go back to other worlds and fight the monsters to level up, but you can't fight any boss you have already defeated.

@jr91096 i got a statagy for beating ansem you cant use combos and just keep pressing A and when 1 hp bar is down use meleficent dragon then your heath will be low use oogie boogie then when its over you should be close to beating him then use ursila just in case then finish him. you can also get ansem and lexious cards for SORA in castle oblivion use calm bounty on a door to get a chest open it and there it is ansem and lexeas. @soragokuash988 Thanks bro but what i did against Ansem was i used sleights with the Jafar card activated to break his cards and enter dark mode faster and when i got into dark mode i activated dragon maleficent and i spammed dark aura and rapidly pressing A owned him easily the time i finally beat him Marluxia easiest boss(Both fights especially the first)Riku also the easiast(All six fights)

He (Yeah, it's a guy) is only losing health because of the Neoshadow card I used at the beginning of battle. Neoshadow gradually lowers the enemy's HP throughout the battle up until your next reload. Once you reload, Neoshadow goes away.
Dodging his attacks won't do anything but save you from taking quite a bit of damage.
@axintadozz It only goes away after you reload your deck. I stuffed my deck with enough healing cards to last me a long time before I would have to reload, so that is why it last for almost the entire battle.

I beat this on the second try. It's pretty dang simple. Just make sure your stats are well balanced. Right when he uses his double sleight enemy card break it with the Parasite Cage card. After that don't even bother breaking his sleights. Just make sure you dodge his attack where his scythe comes downward and the screen flashes. He doesn't do much.
I was stuck on this battle before. Then for a joke I put all the 0 keyblades and cures i could and mashed the a button. I won...although my deck before that one sucked really badly.
the game was suprisingly fun considering it was card battling plusit had some moments which made very happy when i finally passed it. Also at the time i had and stll have a problem with the left and right triggers for the gameboy/Ds lite (nintendo should make them stronger)

Truthfully the GBA version was just as hard. But not in the same ways sometimes. For example, some of the GBA bosses were really hard, while on the remake they were fairly easy. Or vice versa.
PicandPiku: Riku's final boss is Ansem and trust me HES HARD! (that is if your not level 99 or dont have ALL nine and zero cards) I havent played it in a while but i think hes almost (a little less) on-par with Marluxia.

IN this video, I was just waiting for him to run out of cards while Neoshadow chipped away at his health. When he was low on cards, it was much easier to attack him head-on.
If you want a better stragedy, you can use the Riku card (Sleight Lock) and Omnislash. Omnislash deals a lot of damage, and Sleight Lock will allow you to use it over and over without having to lose your first card in the sleight (It only lasts 5 sleights though). However, if you get card breaked durining the middle of
during the middle of your sleight, your countdown for Sleight Lock will not go down. Basically, if you use Omnislash, get two hits in with it, and then get card breaked, you'll still be able to use the Sleight Lock card for 5 more sleights. As long as you get breaked during a sleight, the count on the Sleight Lock will stay the same. That way, you can deal major damage with Omnislash without having too many Cloud cards or without the risk of dying. This stragedy works, I've tried it.
I think you should mix it in. Have a good number of keyblades and use them the second Marluxia reloads his deck. You'll take off at least 1/4 of one of his health bars, and he won't be able to counterattack. When his deck has fully loaded, go back to your Cloud cards.
i played this game many years ago and i feel retarded back then since i made a zero deck with like 40 cards and i used it for both marluxia battles. And boy, the final battle took forever!

and Add maybe 5 or 10 "0" attack cards at the very end of your deck. Just incase your enemy uses a strong attack that has a high number which stacking your cards is a slim chance of breaking it, always keep zeros handy

Good fight, my decks only have 2 combos, 1ºdeck is full of kingdom keys, really good though, 2º in bosses that i cant really defeat, aero 2 keys, aero 2 keys to do judgement good dmg xD . Also good fight with 80Hp
the thing that pisses me about the game is when u play as Riku u couldn't heal without the mickey card so it got really hard when u had to face dark Riku without mickey there.
By the way, all the bosses, except from Destiny Islands, from Riku IV to marluxia ||, will be easily beaten like this:
get all your nine cards and do your deck like this:
card 9 card 0 card 9 card 0 and so on.
after all of them are over, put all your 9 and 0 potions ethers, elixir, hi and mega ones. then all 9,8,7,6 healings. keep ONLY breaking the opponent's cards with yours, and you'll have no probs. i've beaten, in my first time playing, the whole game in 2 days, those bosses in 1.

i use that sequence to beat more easily marluxia 2, cuz he uses only cards.... so just break it up with 9 and 0, it gets to be kinda ridiculous. i used like 1 or 2 healings the whole battle against him, even with 80 hp.
True, but that takes up so much CP that it's near impossible to do if you have low CP. I just spammed Sonic Blade, had 7 heals, and 7 mega-potions. Worked fine, since Sonic Blade is high damage and high value.
Your way is easier to defeat them, yes, but my way is better CP-wise.
Keep using 0 Cards to break his sleights. he'll eventually run out of sleights to use. Then go on the offensive and unleash hell. This works for all the Org Battles(The hard ones) and Riku IV.
He's harder than Riku for in the sense that he can "repeat" a sleight and that his attacks are hard to avoid and that he can card break rather easily. Riku is harder in the sense that he's more aggressive and will come at you. Marluxia is slower.
They should have made this game for DS. If they did that, they could've added some of the 3D effects of the game. Then again, I'm not sure the DS was out when this game was released...

You have to press Select during battle to the the enemy cards section of your deck.
Of course, you gotta put the Enemy Card in your deck to use it. They take up a lot of CP, though, and can only be used once per battle.

metalmanmac1 u need to use alot of ur strongest slieghts and the best would be trinity limit other wise keep ur health up and use the vexen to revive if u die but try to learn some strong slieghts

Here is what i used for my deck...
Only Attack cards
vexen Card
Potions that restore all attack cards
Megaelixir if i have any
Oogie Boogie Card
Maleficent Card
and Add maybe 5 or 10 "0" attack cards at the very end of your deck. Just incase your enemy uses a strong attack that has a high number which stacking your cards is a slim chance of breaking it, always keep zeros handy

omg i hate the first marluxia,it took me a week! i dont know how many times i tried a day but...i know it took me a week!gosh i hate the first form lol.i defeated him by sorting my zeros at front of deck and i skipped it and when he used a sleight,i used a zero.so his sleight were nothing but useless and thats how i won xD

here it is,but it's kinda weird,get like 5-7 value 0 cards in front of your deck.go fight him,whenever he uses a sleight use your 0value cards.or use this one (not recommended unless you have these cards)lots of attack cards,atleast 40-50 needed,get the quickreload things that regains all cards even it its unreloadable (atleast 3 needed) and keep using sleights! whether or not you know any "real" slieghts,just keep stocking it and use it,and thats it

thanks but some guy told me how to beat him with no sleights and a very simple deck kind of like the deck u suggested, and i have barely any sleights because i always ignored them in level ups because i thought they were a waste of cards...but i beat chain of memories yay! now for riku's story.

oh yeah i forgot to say you can also block his attacks he stacks with a 0 card thats wat i did with Riku and it got me to dark form real easy =]

Good fight, my decks only have 2 combos, 1ºdeck is full of kingdom keys, really good though, 2º in bosses that i cant really defeat, aero 2 keys, aero 2 keys to do judgement good dmg xD . Also good fight with 80Hp

You have to dodge roll right when the attack is about to end.

Or, if that doesn't work, dodge roll just as about the petals are going to touch you. I think this was the method used to dodge the petals.

the thing that pisses me about the game is when u play as Riku u couldn't heal without the mickey card so it got really hard when u had to face dark Riku without mickey there.

By the way, all the bosses, except from Destiny Islands, from Riku IV to marluxia ||, will be easily beaten like this:
get all your nine cards and do your deck like this:
card 9 card 0 card 9 card 0 and so on.
after all of them are over, put all your 9 and 0 potions ethers, elixir, hi and mega ones. then all 9,8,7,6 healings. keep ONLY breaking the opponent's cards with yours, and you'll have no probs. i've beaten, in my first time playing, the whole game in 2 days, those bosses in 1.

nah what i did from riku IV onwards was put all my 0 cards at the start of the deck,then after that the 9 cards then the 8 cards and so on.soo i go to the 9 cards whenever i just wanna do normal combos.when the boss does a sleight,i use a 0 card to cancel it.the 0 card would be easy to reach cuz its next to the 9 cards.

but that way i said is quite easier, cuz your combos will not be broken ;) and it's easier to brake sleights like dark aura or Deathscythe(i don't break that one, but..)
i use that sequence to beat more easily marluxia 2, cuz he uses only cards.... so just break it up with 9 and 0, it gets to be kinda ridiculous. i used like 1 or 2 healings the whole battle against him, even with 80 hp.

True, but that takes up so much CP that it's near impossible to do if you have low CP. I just spammed Sonic Blade, had 7 heals, and 7 mega-potions. Worked fine, since Sonic Blade is high damage and high value.
Your way is easier to defeat them, yes, but my way is better CP-wise.

Keep using 0 Cards to break his sleights. he'll eventually run out of sleights to use. Then go on the offensive and unleash hell. This works for all the Org Battles(The hard ones) and Riku IV.

Is he harder than Riku 4? I'm stuck on him now. I'm ABSOLUTELY hopeless, even with all those tips on the internet.

He's harder than Riku for in the sense that he can "repeat" a sleight and that his attacks are hard to avoid and that he can card break rather easily. Riku is harder in the sense that he's more aggressive and will come at you. Marluxia is slower.

Never mind about Riku 4. I beat him by using Holy sleights. They drain 1/2 of a health bar!

They should have made this game for DS. If they did that, they could've added some of the 3D effects of the game. Then again, I'm not sure the DS was out when this game was released...
