i noticed in this video you turned the monitors on to the side ..... now is that just according to the type of monitor or is this okay to do with all monitors i have the m audio bx8 d2's and says in the manual not to place on the side ....1can this ruin my monitors? ....2. will i still be able to get in the sweet spot this way?
The way he placed the speakers is just so wrong. You always need to have the tweeter on the inside if they are placed on the side. Sorry francis is really like your vids but thats just wrong.
You actually shouldn't. Usually the dip in off-axis response, because of driver alignment and over-lapping frequencies at the x-over, is on the "down side", if you imagine the speakers are vertical and you're listening from below the on-axis level. The way the speakers are set up here it's clear that he's listening on the "upside" of the tweeters which usually is the flattest off-axis response. On well-designed speakers this is less of an issue anyways.
@FullFledged2010 yeah my alesis' monitors instruction manual says that but it is WRONG, please trust me, your mixes will sound sooo much better on the outside, sorry for calling you a dumbass :)
@HollowGraphicz LoL thats funny...yea man I had sooo much stuff in my studio...and added more stuff...its pretty much my personally space/room so I' am comfortable working in it the way it is...You can see new photos of my studio on my Facebook @ Frescobangaz

I noticed Francis placed the new bass traps lower in the corner than Steve had his bass traps. Why?
