I am German an therefore neutral and objective. I have to say Maradona is still by far the best there ever was. There has never been a player that has played the game with more elegance and ease. I know he transformed the Napoli side and had a good 86 world cup but apart from that I don't get it. He scoed 108 goals in 250 league games in Spain and Italy. He rated Edwards far higher than Best, who was wayward, poor team player, lacked dedication, sharply declined in his mid 20s. Best failed to reach WC finals, though N.Ireland have done that before and since, only won 2 League titles and 1 European Cup, even though playing alongside Charlton and Law, top international players for England and Scotland.

Can someone please tell me what he did to be considered the best player ever? I'm only 27 so I didn't really see him play. I know he transformed the Napoli side and had a good 86 world cup but apart from that I don't get it. He scoed 108 goals in 250 league games in Spain and Italy. That's less than Rivaldo and he played 30 games more.
Honestly please can someone explain. This isn't hate I just dont understand.
