From what I remember last year, Sheila loved the attention and had a lot of fun. Her owner made sure she got down time if she appeared tired or mad. She's a real sweetheart.
This turtle has a condition called pyramiding, which only happens when the owner screws up the turtle's food. The shell should be smooth, not all lumpy like that. More greens, less cat food.
@StormchaserKnight Agreed. Turtles are all fully or semi-aquatic. But hey, let them have their eccentricities. Let's face is, they're STILL using Imperial measurements as well.
1. It's the turtle's costume, and the daleks dont weigh enough for it to be too much too pull. 2. The guy is really nice to the turtle! Have you ever met the turtle OR the dude? The guy would never make the turtle do anything that would hurt it, or drag anything that was heavy.
if i tie some 10 pound weights and make you drag them around is it ok because i call it a costume? its only 10 pound weights its not too much for you to pull around. and if i am really nice to you when i am not making you drag around 10 pound weights its ok right? and if anyone says i am mean for making you drag around the weights i will just tell them they dont know me and you so mind their own business. if i make you drag around the 10 pound weights it wont hurt you just amuse me
@signboyy So... I'll just tell all the wild ones that they can't drag sticks around to move them and build stuff like beds? Ok... Well then... They are gonna survive so well now, aren't they? The Daleks are not heavy at all and they probably have wheels on them, which makes it easier for the turtoise to move them. The strings aren't tied on it's tail (so no problem with constriction there) and the one on its back wouldn't even bother it. If the tortoise was in any pain or discomfort -c
@signboyy It would not have moved around and sat down. Period. Believe me, they are stubborn animals and will only do what they want. This one seems to enjoy doing it or if not enjoy it, at least not be bothered by it at all. And it's one of the healthiest Tortoise I have seen in a long time, nice and big. Just like they should. And the shell looks to be in amazing condition.
Kudos to the owner for creativity of the costume, and amazing Tortoise raising skills :D
@signboyy ....have you paid attention to some of the more complex costumes? A full body suit isn't exactly light. And as others have pointed out, this is more like items only weighing a few ounces, not '10 pounds'. (unless you're comparing it to UK currency in the amount of 10 pounds, maybe...)
@signboyy It's a terrible tragedy that this poor, poor creature was tortured this way for so long! Thank you so much for pointing out to everyone how important your unnecessary opinion truly is!
I called the police, just like you suggested, and yelled: "Hurry! Marriot! Baby Daleks! Enslaved Tortoise! Mass Chaos! NO TIME TO EXPLAIN!!!" and......they hung up on me. Maybe you're wrong? Nice trolling though.
@signboyy Four plastic Daleks don't even weight a pound. That turtle/tortoise is very capable of pulling four four inch plastic figures around. It's fine, chill.
@signboyy putting a few toy daleks like that is not animal cruelty.
If it was, why are dog coats and things like that not cruel, it's essentially the same thing
You'll gladly insult people who argue with you and be rude to them, but putting a dalek on a tortoise is out of order. It's PC, over sensitive idiots like you who ruin this world.
@signboyy For the record, the owner of this tortoise found her on the side of the road in MN, nearly starved. This had been someone's pet who was abandoned. The owner brought it home, nursed it back to health, and takes really good care of her. And yes, Sheila loves conventions and performing with her Dalek troops for spectators.
Perhaps it's ignorant people like you, who judge without all the facts, that should be sterilized.
@signboyy Tortoises are built like fucking tanks. I'm sure that tortoise can handle pulling around some small plastic Daleks like that. No need to worry.
What convention was this at? Tortoise is just too cute! :D I'm not sure I get the army of Daleks though... is that referencing some Doctor Who episode I haven't seen yet? :p
The only thing missing was the constant "EXTERMINATE" from the daleks :P

I can't believe this hilarious/adorable video's comments are mostly people bitching about turtle vs tortoise.
How about how it's totally a clever idea, awesome dalek figures, or totally silly/amusing spectacle?
Personally I'd like to compliment the videographer's thinking to grab a camera!
I wonder how the owner intends to FIND his/her pet after the gag is up. xD
Great video, thanks for posting!
