  • Lee Marvin and Steve McQueen......... the two best.

    Nobody else even came close.

    God Rest, boys, God Rest.

  • Lee Marvin extraordinário ator americano. De uma safra de atores fantasticos , atores que não existem mais. Grandes personagens, grandes atuações.

  • My resepect for Lee Marvin is gigantic. Death Hunt is one of my favourite movies with two of my favourite actors Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson - fantastic!

  • God bless your soul Lee Marvin

    rip

  • A friend of mine knew him personally. Lee loved playing practical jokes. I wish I could have gone drinking with him. Imagine the stories he could have told...

  • Very few and far between....men. This is one...

  • The shit. totally one of the badass's just like we imagine em to have to be....Hes kicking someones ass where ever he is...along with his pal John Wayne...

  • What did Lee die of??

Too bad he drank so much maybe he would have lived longer.

  • I believe he had a heart attack, sadly

  • Heart failure, Aug 29, 1987. His smoking was more of a problem than his perceived drinking.

Buried Arlington National Cemetary, VA and awarded Purple Heart for bravery after being injured in the SE Pacific

  • @ 455transam it was NOT alcohol NOR cirrhossis of the liver that killed Lee Marvin.

he had emphysema from his excessive smoking and was in the hospital in late1986 and had surgery and died in 1987 after suffering a heart attack while in the hospital for 2 weeks

he is resting in peace at The Arlington National Cemetery

  • ONE COOL DUDE

  • A great actor and singer, R.I.P. Lee marvin

  • he was soooo great!!! to bad he's gone ='(

  • A Marine? Yes. An Actor? Yes. A dead man? Yes. How nice.

  • god, what a distinctive voice

  • Anyone know why there isn't at least one USPS Commemorative Stamp for this Giant of the Silver Screen?

Both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan would have been long over if we had leaders like Lee Marvin today!

  • He's far more deserving than that draft dodger John Wayne.

  • I worked on the Dirty Dozen - The Final Mission and he was such a great man!

  • yes he was lucky for you to work with lee

  • lee marvin is the real tough guy .dirty dozen is my favourite movie of lee

  • Cant see many actors today playing the hard man or playing the clown as Lee did. Love Marvin....miss him.

  • lee marvin and robert mitchum were the best.

  • I must agree with you bullcur.

A great tribute. I adore Lee Marvin! Thank you.

  • A No 1...

  • My frind who also passed away had told me about this said that it cleared the way for him and the rest of thier group.RIP LEE AND BILL

  • My friend who was with Lee when he jumped in a foxhole and killed five---- with a knife. This was on one of the islands.

  • remembering Lee Marvin, WW2, Purple Heart Recipient buried but not forgotten at Arlington Cemetary. God Bless him.

  • Lee was one of many great male actors from that era, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart...so many more and I miss them. They had class, they were well trained and they put forth the effort to make their characters believable. And when you listen to their voices there is something special there that the current stable of stars just don't have.

  • Thankyou for putting this on youtube 5*s

  • I couldn't agree with you more Drunkhandpuppet. You summed it up beautifully. It's a little emotional watching this video.

  • Drunkhandpuppet:

What a great way to say it all about this fine man. He will always be one of my favourites... just wish he could have lived another 30 yrs.

  • One TOUGH Mother fucker!! God he is missed already. he taught many of the legends after him how to do it., Now that means he was a god unto himself. NO way they make em like that again. :) Glad to see the Sons of Lee Marvin honor him. -UW

  • Good actor. Along the greats. They just dont get em like this no more! Men with character and not just the looks.

  • God bless your soul Lee Marvin one hell of a fine actor! If Hollywood only had a few like you these days and a bit of good writing going to the cinema would be worth it again.

  • @Drunkhandpuppet I don't go to shows anymore. Have not since a kid because these actors are all dead or dying out. Nobody worth seeing today. All beta males or sissies. So much PC today. tired of that. So tired of the bull of today.

  • @Drunkhandpuppet hell yes.; ) agreed

  • Graet actor, hard-partying maverick. POINT BLANK is his best, made me want to visit Alcatraz. Would've been a better choice than Steve McQueen for the fire-chief in Towering Inferno. Would've loved to see Spielberg control him if he'd chosen to play Quint in JAWS. R.I.P.

  • i must disagree respectfully. i think that Lee Marvin's best performance was in Cat Ballou or Hell In the Pacific. the first one he received an Oscar and the second won tended to rehabilitate his horrific memories of world war 2.

  • Murphy and Marvin two most visited gravesites in Arlington Great Men Great Actors Great Americans

  • Lee was 63 when he died of his illness, not old at all and what a Great actor and a Great star. Even now, over 20 years after his death he still has a legion of fans who love him and his films. A True Legend of Hollywood.

Todays Film stars are nothing compared to him.

  • A war hero injured in Saipan his whole platoon was wiped out, buried in Arlingtion cemetry with all the heroes and a great actor to boot

  • 2:49 - that is lee....like my grandfather - hard drinking, hard womanising and hard living and good looking. Thanks for vid and music - perfect match.

  • The old school movie tough guys were the best and Marvin was one of the tops, though I'm more of a Bronson/Eastwood fan myself. Whether a cop or a creep they didn't give a shit about anything and would smack an out-of-line bitch without blinking an eye. Today's movie tough guys are pussies in comparison.

  • Lee Marvin actually did 2 movies with Charles Bronson and 1 with Clint Eastwood.

  • ¡¡GREAT!!

He´s the one, the only... ¡¡THE BEST!!

  • one of my favorite actors ever...back when real men were on screen...not these pansy asses of today...a real tough guy...that was great at comedy....i miss him, jimmy stewart and john wayne.....cunn beat me to it but...semper fi lee....a true great

  • I miss Lee. A great actor and a great guy he was.

  • i was named after this legend! i am privileged major riceman!

  • Thank you!!!

  • Uno de los grandes actores de la historia, olvidado injustamente.

    Gran video

  • legend

  • Mr. Marvin was what i call a real movie star

  • u better call it (wandering star) i think if he was alive he would loved to be called so... with love

  • ~He WAS born under a "wanderin star", the epitomie of a man, charming, caring and he put his woman first... he won my heart with his songs...because his voice was like no other!!!!

  • I simply love the man. He was so good, the ultimate scene stealer. You can't take your eyes off him. He would eat these guys today for lunch and ask for seconds. I'm going to washington this summer to visit his tombstone. Semper Fi Lee Marvin.

  • I am Japanese but the movies in this clip, I almost see those.

He is the FINEST American Movie Star in my heart and our generation's ones.

  • Watch Hell In The Pacific made in the late 1960s

  • YOUR 100% RIGHT ! movies stars , are NOT the same as they were BACK THEN ~ THEY WERE THE BEST....NO IF'S OR BUT'S ABOUT IT ~

  • He made his way up by his own bootstraps.

    Me? I'm doing fine.

  • Great!! Thank you!

  • Voted as the #1 Tough Guy in Hollywood.

  • Well Done

  • perfect !!! kat....thanks from germany :-)

  • perfect !!! kat....thanks from germany :-)

  • A No.1

  • Well done really good tribute

  • Oh I love this song. I think it's called "All The Time In The World" by Louis Armstrong. And I love Lee Marvin. Kid Shelleen forever! :)

  • A man, an icon, a legend! The most rude of all times.

  • Very nice tribute Kat
