Social programs to help the poor are needed but we have to insure we are helping people that can't help themselves. Look, this is how it works. You get more money from the rich than you get from an average citizen, you give some of the money to the poor... Now the poor can afford to buy things produced by the rich. Some portion of the money you're giving the poor is going back to where it came from.

Making education and health care more affordable in fact helps the economy. Just look at the US, they have 2 million jobs available and there is no one to take them because the unemployed are not skilled enough.
When you have affordable health care, this ensures that your population remains healthy, which has a significant impact on the economy.

@santoory A couple of other things I just thought of, Martin used the 40 billion E.I. surplus and also about another 40 billion of civil servants pension funds to balance the budget. He was not the hero they pretended him to be, he made just ablout all the provinces broke and the cities as well. Canada was in a mess under that liberal government. The conservatives have fixed that problem but the world economy stepped in to hinder their work.

Hmmm, I don't know. My mum was a grandparent's age when I was born, she's 89 now, and she's voting strategically.
Still, we do have some neighbours who believe the Harper is a "nice christian guy", it kills me (as others have pointed out: beware of language here, they'd be touchy about that).
One of my only problems with ShitHarperDid was the negative effect it could possibly have on the perception of youth and "the left" for the blatant use of profanity and irreverence so this is an awesome alternative to get the word out to people on the fence. @santoory Where do you live? In the real life, if you want something you have to work for it, the government is not there to provide you with everything you will need in life. Social programs to help the poor are needed but we have to insure we are helping people that can't help themselves. There is far too much abuse of our social programs now and that should be corrected. The 1% pay 20% of all the taxes collected and that is not fair either. Work for your own money.

Look, this is how it works. You get more money from the rich than you get from an average citizen, you give some of the money to the poor... Now the poor can afford to buy things produced by the rich. Some portion of the money you're giving the poor is going back to where it came from.

@santoory A couple of other things I just thought of, Martin used the 40 billion E.I. surplus and also about another 40 billion of civil servants pension funds to balance the budget. He was not the hero they pretended him to be, he made just ablout all the provinces broke and the cities as well. Canada was in a mess under that liberal government. The conservatives have fixed that problem but the world economy stepped in to hinder their work.

Also, the left need to realize that in order to fund these things, you will have to implement taxes, and tax increases will not help people to get jobs in order to pay taxes in the first place to fund these programs. Hmmm, I don't know. My mum was a grandparent's age when I was born, she's 89 now, and she's voting strategically.
Still, we do have some neighbours who believe the Harper is a "nice christian guy", it kills me (as others have pointed out: beware of language here, they'd be touchy about that).

One of my only problems with ShitHarperDid was the negative effect it could possibly have on the perception of youth and "the left" for the blatant use of profanity and irreverence so this is an awesome alternative to get the word out to people on the fence. Although the links to the next Harper-nanigan still say "SHIT" on them.
