Dunking is overrated. I'm 6 ft. even and can barely touch the bottom of the rim. Practice shooting more because how often in a game are you going to get a perfect opportunity if you can barely dunk? If you can't dunk in traffic than you should just stick to other elements of the game.
The vertical jump has many applications to the game of basketball well beyond the small scope of dunking. Grabbing extra rebounds, challenging opponents shots, and overall being a better athlete. A complete basketball player cannot ignore his athletic development, but rather use it to accentuate the skill development which you advocate.
Honestly, what kind of basketball player is going to be worse of because of better hip fluidity and increased rate of force development?

Your jump has increased so much. At my local gym there is a 9 foot basket and I dunked with a tennis ball and everyone was going crazy! I can't imagine how it feels to dunk on 10 with a real basketball! Congrats man!
