@JGigs93 the bigger problem, i'm pretty sure, about giving gonch the 3 year contract was the rule that if you sign someone over 35, their salary will still count against your cap hit until the contract is over, even if the guy retires, so they can't pull some shit like the Devils tried to do with Kovalchuk. Ottawa's signing of the guy might come back to bite them in the ass in 3 years. maybe

Exactly, that 35+ older clause was really the breaking point when it came to a new contract.

WAY OVERPAID...9m a year for the two D-men....and 8.7m a year for #87 and #71.

Not true...Michalek makes 4 M per year, Martin makes 5 M, and Crosby and Malkin both make 8.7 M a piece. But since ur a Flyer fan I would be more concerned with ur goalie situation right now lol
