I made one out of steel and instead of an attachable blade, its retractable under a thin layer of metal. It looks just like the original but weighs 25 pounds! lol... I wear it all the time and no one fucks with me hahaha
Question: Did you just use styrene and silver Vinyl for the fingers with just Hot glue and regular glue? Did you use anything else for the whole thing?
I checked out you're link, and i was sooo woawed (:O You're awsome!! >w< Thanks for taking so much of you're time to help people like me make an automail arm... Once again: You're awsome!! Thank you, thank you... :3
Do you just use regular white glue to attach the vinyl to the styrene? Then you use hot glue to hold down the tabs, right? Planning to make this really soon, and I don't want my automail to be falling apart! Thank you very much for posting this!!!
how much was the total amount spent for the material? its a good tutorial by the way ironically im trying to cospaly as him and APPARENTLY im eds exact height in real life with almost the same length of hair XD so i wanted to try my best with the automail but i dont know how much i can spend on supplies so PLEASE help me ^^ thanks
@Tonxie sorry, i wasnt mocking at all, by the way, i didnt watch the whole video, i cant stand to see cuts like this [ even if them are fake - but very realistic]
Knives... what's the matter, plural nouns still giving you trouble? In case you were wondering, you call more than one duck "ducks". Take your time learning this...
i have read through your tutorial many times and have it bookmarked for when i have time (and patience) and was just wondering how much it generally costs to build something like this? i did manage to find something similar on ebay, but i feel like it would be more fun to just make it myself XD
The materials cost about 50 dollars if you want to make it yourself. (I have a materials list posted in my tutorial.) I 'm thinking of buying styrene from my supplier and offering it to the public the next time I pick some up to make it easier for people to find...
:3 I'm in the process of cutting out my pattern along with styrene right now ^_^
Thanks for this awesome tutorial/walkthrough :D, I especially love how you've written out more detailed imformation about the fingerplates back on your website.
ThankyouTHANKYOUU <3
:D I think that in the end, I'm going to texturize my pieces using some fabric paint, and seal it off after : D
Can I ask what material did you use to make the templete for the finger pieces? I'm wanting to make some automail for a convention and these videos really help ^--^ thankyou!
@lucasdaudt22 have you got any pics or anythin like that? I'm thinkin of making a steel automail model but can't find any steel ones to work from :)

ok, awesome! thanks a bunch! that's definitely cheaper than ebay XP
i might actually get to build it this summer like i had planned ^_^
i'm guessing it would cost about the same to build Vincent's claw?
LakaraValentine 2 years ago
Oh I think it would be much cheaper (depending on where you buy your styrene. ) It involves much less material than the automail anyway...
theproplady 2 years ago
You should think about making props for people.
I would totally pay you for this!
