  • Has anyone noticed how Dr. Starkey's head moved about rather violently at the mention on the Tudors executing people without trial?

  • @Gibraltar15 Perhaps Dr. Starkey is a reincarnated old Queen - Ann Boleyn, perhaps - or Catherine Howard. One of Henry VIII's exes. It may explain his fascination for Henry VIII and the Tudor period.

  • Oh dear. Mr. Potter began well, but then began tossing in unsubstantiated theories and pretending they were facts.

  • @zahir13

You are entitled to your opinion, but I believe that Jeremy Potter was an excellent witness for the defence, and was extremely learned about this particular period in history. His book 'Good King Richard' is definitely worth reading if you are interested in the subject.

  • I think he is miles too late, Doctor Plausible. Mr. Potter's knowledge about the period under discussion is extremely wide ranging and he makes a wonderful witness for the Defence ;)

  • Mr Russell seems to have noticed that Mr Potter was the witness most likely to damage his case. He has pointed all his guns at this witness, though he might have woken up too late.

  • @DoctorPlausible

And unfortunately, Russell makes him look small-minded by utterances like "Hastings was totally anti-Woodville" - though it is debatable whether the plot against Richard was real or fake, one cannot simply disclaim it by such simplistic statements. Hastins was, first and foremost, pro-Hastings. And Russell continues with general accusations against "the Ricardians" and "under the staircase".
