@danieln1 Clijsters game is a mix of very good consistency, very good power, and great defense. She doesnt have enormous over the top power like the Wililams, Davenport, or even Henin. She doesnt have variety like Henin or Novotna. She doesnt attack the net. She was an easy matchup for Monica since Monica liked pace but she didnt give Monica too much she couldnt handle, she gave her a nice clean ball, Monica didnt mind playing steady players or retrievers either. Her game fit Monica well.
@selesfan30 I completely agree with your assessment and i wanted to add that Clijsters also had great movement, loved to retrieve, and also knew when to attack, I agree she had less power & variety than those mentioned, but i disagree about Henin, Clijsters is far more powerful than Justine, it's just hard for Kim to handle the variety.
@danieln1 OWNED? I wouldn't even dare to say that. beginning of the video, listen to what the commentators say: really unfortunate for Clijsters, because she was playing up to Monica's standard. end of video: a slightly misleading scoreline in the second set, because Clijsters was in at every game.
Off course Monica is a great champion, she has accomplished a lot, but I regret the fact that fans are always so blind, and pretend that their favourite crushes every other player.
Seles excelent!!!!
