@TheBum642 fail troll. can't even spell faggot correctly. How can we take you seriously when you are retarded enough to ignore a built in spell check? You were obviously cut of from oxygen for at least 45 minutes as a child.
Regardless, Randy and Hendrix both had short careers and lives. And they also have their own unique effects on guitar players around the world... Also, It's really not possible to say who would win in a guitar battle since they play very different styles of music, but I have a feeling that the man who would win, would have to have his first name to be Handy, or Andy, or any small variations to those names : }
@JJLipton 1st, you misunderstood me, I meant Improv as in improvise some additions to his solo's (Live) is all that I was saying, and secondly, your right! I'm pretty inexperienced about JIMI, mainly because I dont listen to his music that much at all unless it's on the radio. The wind cry's Larry and Purple glazed donuts are the only songs that I enjoy listening to more than once, everything else gets old very quickly. And yes I know that ALOT of people love his rhythem but Im jus not impressed
best solo artist ever. everybody thought Justin Timberlake and Beyonce were awesome soloists after leaving their bands. obviously they've never listened to Ozzy. or Sabbath.
randy rhoads never got the chance to show the world exactically what he was made of that motherfucker would have torn this world up with his geniuss and all the beautifull music flowing out of him. its a god damb waste that one fucking idiot can deprive the world of one of the best that graced our presence
I love EVH and Hendrix's guitar playing because they have their own unique sound. However EVH did kinda the same routine in soloing, such as starting with tapping, running scales, and then finishing with a trembolic scale down the neck. And I hate to say it but I never really understood why people loved Hendrix so much. He was a GOOD improver at best with a mixture of blues solo's and heroine. : ] No doubt Randy's the greatest. His career (short as it was) brought so much more sound to the table
@ChrisGuitarSmith Calling hendrix an "improver" only shows your inexperience. The rhythm playing of hendrix is what makes his music great. On a side note....i never really liked randy rhoads too much...but his cream les paul custom is mouth watering.
even though randy's known for his polka dot and pointy guitars, his cream les paul is still my favorite. i would love to own it or a replica someday :-P
Randy is amazing...but I hope that everyone kept an ear open for other talented guitarists at the time. There may have even been a few that could match Randy lick for lick. I have one that could match him for Best Mix of Imagination, Aggressiveness and Sound - Akira Takasaki of LOUDNESS
@welchit You know what - I'm glad you mentioned him. I have not heard from or about Loudness in.......I can't remember how long. Akira Takasaki WAS great.......... Awesome, thanks! :)
Randy Rhodes was too great for this world. Watch his face while he plays and you'll see how effortlessly the sound burst out of his guitar. Rhodes used every style and technique possible. He inspired me to learn guitar when I was thirteen and again at twenty five after I'd lost touch with the instrument for a few years. I've been playing everyday for three years and still love trying to learn the licks of Randy Rhodes.
"IF YOU ARE THE METALHEADS IN THE SHADOWS PUTTING TOGETHER A METAL ARMY TO TAKE DOWN MODERN DAY MUSICAL SHIT AND BRING BACK THE DAYS OF HEAVY METAL AND THRASH METAL HELP ANOTHER METALHEAD OUT AND CHECK OUT MY PROFILE IM STARTING A THRASH METAL BAND AND THE NAME IS CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. @hammettfcb Duh??? Randy is far technically beyond Jimi and it's easy to say he was one with his guitar too :) If you're looking for a master check out Danny Gatton. This said Hendrix was a hell of a song writer and performer there's no doubt about it.
@hammettfcb wtf? u know what, its your opinion so i shouldnt even have said that, but im not even going to justify my statement. hendrix is not even in the same class as randy. have you heard his classical pieces? hendrix was stuck on the penatonic and feedback gimmicks. are u a player or a fan? i hope u said fan, cuz any player should point out the obvious. if u put the both of them onstage for a "duel", there is no way in hell u can sit there and say hendrix can outplay randy lick for lick.
the fills between his riffs are crushing (ex: at 1:32) !! to play like this back in that era, all i can say is RANDY RHOADS was way , way ahead of his time. one can only imagine what he could be doing today if he was still with us. he was a true guitar inspiration to millions, and continues to be one through his music. these live versions of this band , in this era they are playing, are absolutely priceless. rip randy rhoads.
Awesome Song!!!!!! If you don't like it or click the dislike button, It's because your father forgot to wash his dick when he put it in your mouth after he stuck it up the dogs ass!
@BigJulieWasDead - are you saying that anyone who doesn't like what you like is automatically a 'demented idiot'?? I love this, but I'm sensible enough to accept other people may not, for some reason. Thank goodness people all have different likes and dislikes.
@expatbritingermany No mate, I'm saying that the 20 people who didn't like this (and I am assuming that to be checking it out, they're Ozzy fans in the first place) are demented idiots. Not because they don't like what I don't like, I'm not that egotistical ! sorry, perhaps I should have said "this is one of the most awesome vids I've seen on Youtube". For so it is.
Ozzy the master be hide the lyrics to I don’t know and Mr. Crowley on the blizzard of ozz, knows that one of the most important things to remember is to practice what you preach. Good thing Aleister Crowley did not practice what he preached, but unfortunately his followers may have.

I wouldn't be as angry if there was something else relating to that search but only when I type in "I don't know ozzy" is it first.
@Xeivous he is relatively well known his name is rudy sarzo and he originally played in quiet riot with randy rhodes and then ozzy hired both of them and he played on the blizzard of ozz and diary of a madman records and after that he went on to play with the band whitesnake. I'm not sure where he is now but i agree with u that he is a great bassist.
@dcfanchris Rudy didn't play on Blizzard, it was Bob Daisley. Also, after playing for Ozzy, Rudy went on to reform Quiet Riot with the more infamous line-up of Frankie Banali,Carlos Cavazo and the late great Kevin Dubrow. He the went on to play with Whitesnake. Most recently, he was one of the "team leaders" on VH1's Rock Camp series. And yes.....He is a God on bass.
So there I was in Shri Lanka formerly Ceylon, We had to find 1,000 brown M&M's enough to fill a Brandy Glass or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night......
@mangelvera93 you're english is fine.and you like ozzy awesome!!!!!! my sister visited your country and loved it so much she did'nt want to leave.!!!!!!!
I just saw ozzy osbourne 12/5/10!! It tied with metallica i saw last year!! So those 2 concerts i just named were the best concerts ive been to! but if i had to choose which one i had more fun at, i would pick ozzy b/c i was drunk, and smoked 2 blunts, and i had floor seats that were pretty close to the stage. Not to mention it was only $60.00 for ozzy, and metallica was $87.00 and i had shitty seats for metallica, and metallica decided to cancel alcohol sales right when the 1st song started
@Panahs7 i will definately give a thumbs up on that! IN FACT IM SURPRISED IM THE ONLY MOTHER FUCKER GIVING THUMBS UP, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No huge stage production. No explosions, flames, smoke or lasers - and no auto-tune. Just four men in a VERY tight band, including: a creative, cutting-edge drummer - a rock-solid bassist with great stage presence - a guitarist with a blistering, technically dazzling, energetic and TIMELESS style - and last but not least - a front-man with a vision of high-energy heavy Rock and Roll, who sang with feeling and intensity, who knew how to have FUN on stage. That is one ELECTRIFYING performance man!
@AJuarez764 Thanks Man, just talkin' how that band made me feel. I was 12 when this album came out, and just getting to know the Black Sabbath music that had been out years before while I was but a toddler running around blissfully unaware of the feeling of Heavy Metal. But even though Sabbath WAS great, and is still my all-time favorite band, when this first single came out and I heard it on the radio - I was ELECTRIFIED. Ozzy was something special, and STILL IS my favorite solo artist.
@AJuarez764 .........Randy WAS timeless as well. Never before or since, have I heard such a unique sound. Of course there are guitarists like Eddie Van Halen and Hendrix who showed the world something new and exciting, but Randy to me, had the BEST mix of imagination, aggressiveness, and SOUND of his guitar, or tone. His sound was BLISTERING. Mix blistering guitar sound with unbelievable technical proficiency, imagination, and soul - and the best Heavy Metal guitarist of all time is born.
Lol he was great, mine is still Slash, Walter Giardino and this dude. All three had unique sound i can differentiate no matter what part of their songs i hear.
@tenkuunokage Hey WOW thanks for that. I never heard of Walter Giordano before you mentioned him in your comment. Went and checked him out, and ......WOW.
@pizzacrime yes, the lack of over production, limited mixing along with great song writing, arranging and a great performance make this series of after hours excellent!!!!
It looks/sounds like Randy reaches up and turns down a string during the solo at about 3:22. I've seen him do this in other solos, but I can't quite tell 100% on this one. Anyone know for sure?
@TheRamsesII Randy presses his finger down a bit on the string above the nut on the guitar head. This stretches the string which in turn makes the pitch higher while he is doing the hammer ons and pull offs. I know this cause I'm currently learning this song on the guitar. The riffs are grand but the solo is fucking difficult!
This comment has received too many negative votes show

Also, after playing for Ozzy, Rudy went on to reform Quiet Riot with the more infamous line-up of Frankie Banali,Carlos Cavazo and the late great Kevin Dubrow. He the went on to play with Whitesnake. Most recently, he was one of the "team leaders" on VH1's Rock Camp series. And yes.....He is a God on bass.

@clevec4 Rudy also played for the late Ronnie James Dio in the mid 2000s. :)

@pizzacrime Nicely put. Timeless style is a perfect word. Great comment!
AJuarez764 11 months ago
@AJuarez764 Thanks Man, just talkin' how that band made me feel. I was 12 when this album came out, and just getting to know the Black Sabbath music that had been out years before while I was but a toddler running around blissfully unaware of the feeling of Heavy Metal. But even though Sabbath WAS great, and is still my all-time favorite band, when this first single came out and I heard it on the radio - I was ELECTRIFIED. Ozzy was something special, and STILL IS my favorite solo artist.
pizzacrime 11 months ago
@AJuarez764 .........Randy WAS timeless as well. Never before or since, have I heard such a unique sound. Of course there are guitarists like Eddie Van Halen and Hendrix who showed the world something new and exciting, but Randy to me, had the BEST mix of imagination, aggressiveness, and SOUND of his guitar, or tone. His sound was BLISTERING. Mix blistering guitar sound with unbelievable technical proficiency, imagination, and soul - and the best Heavy Metal guitarist of all time is born.

@pizzacrime yes, the limited production, limited mixing, great song writing, arranging and performance make this one great!!!!

TheRamsesII 1 year ago
@TheRamsesII Randy presses his finger down a bit on the string above the nut on the guitar head. This stretches the string which in turn makes the pitch higher while he is doing the hammer ons and pull offs. I know this cause I'm currently learning this song on the guitar. The riffs are grand but the solo is fucking difficult!
