Its a large SUV, but it could've done without the third row seats. It feels cheap inside, the doors are light and not quality. It feels small inside. I don't really like it. I have a 2010 Ford F-150 and that is an AMAZING vehicle. FAR better than this.

I drive an Alfa 166 yet I was abused the other day by some pompous woman in a car park for driving a "big car" when i didn't need to. Can you guess what she was driving? thats right! a crappy small "smart car"

Not sure if you have the smart car in the US but its 600cc and does about 75mpg. Aweful little thing.

i dont agree with what he said about the interior materials. i have a 99 explorer with 200,000 miles on it.....the interior gets used pretty rough. if it was made out of nice soft materials if would be all ripped up and shitty by now. instead its made of plastic, which looks decent, cleans easily and lasts a long time and is durable. i think these newer explorers are very nice and i cant wait to finish school and get a nice job so i have the money to upgrade! ford trucks are the best IMO

SUVS have a use, but as they said it's a niche market. It's good, and only good, for a person that has a large family, or a company that needs to transport lots of employees, and needs to haul a oayload with their vehicle as well. Unfortunately, most people who drive these have one or two (sometimes none) kids and a big ego because they want to feel big and powerful driving a fucking mammoth vehicle.

unibody is referring to the these new crossovers where the body is the frame. its fine for a sedan. but awful for the a proper SUV that is needed to tow, go off-rod, and etc. a unibody is vehicle isnt as structurally rigid.

I have an '02 Eddie Bauer with 90,000 on it and love it! I wouldnt mind getting me a new one and just keeping this one too. But my next Explorers going to have the V-8 engine.

Plus I wouldnt mind adding a cold air intake, headers, exhaust upgrade and a whipple supercharger to add this beauty into a sleeping beast ;-)
