The game will run on most device running Android 2.1 or higher. Old phones originally shipped with 1.5 or 1.6 and then upgraded to 2.1 like the HTC Hero and HTC Eris do not have the correct hardware acceleration to run it.
Also multi-touch is supported for the device has it.
@ProwlerNS The game will run on any device running Android 2.1 or higher. Looking at the specs for samsung i7500 which was released originally with Android 1.5 almost a year ago and having such low ram may not run the game at a smooth framerate because the device is not as new
pls take use of the feature saving additional data to sd card. you tell you try to keep it under 50 megs. but most android phones just have 100-200 megs free app space so 50 megs is still very huge ! including the sd card feature isnt hard and you sure will get more downloads cause many people wont buy it if they have to delete dozent of their other good apps they installed.
Hi, I wonder how's the multitouch on this game going by far? because some people are showing some N1 multitouch issues when using the drawing and tracking apps
I use a unique way of keeping track of each touch in code to work around issues so it is possible to walk by moving the joystick and swipe the screen to look around at the same time without the 2 touches conflicting with each other.
There is currently an issue on the nexus one that if 2 touches get close to aligning on the X and Y axis that the touches begin to swap their coordinates. I have uploaded and video showing this if you check my other videos. Hopefully their will be a system update to correct this because there is not much developers can do about this. The good news is that Welcome To Hell is barely affected by this. I'm hoping a multitouch system update will be released soon.
This game and Crusade Of Destiny will both support multi touch. You will be able to move, aim, and fire if your device supports multi touch. If you notice in the video at around the time 1:03 that you can move forward using the joystick while swiping the screen at the same time to aim/look around
The game saving data is extremely small and takes up only a few kilobytes of space so even for the oldest android devices this should not be a problem. As far as the actual size of the game, a lot of compression is used for the textures, sound and music. The goal is to try to keep the size below 50MB and still have a full length game and not just a game you can be in a few hours
You can choose a different control setup that allows you to tap the screen to fire and gives you a 2nd joystick for aiming. It's just not shown in this video since slide your finger to aim is the default control setup.
Yeah there are a lot more weapons, this is just the starter pistol you get. If you watch the game trailer you can see other weapons like shotgun, flamethrower, automatic weapon and some extreme heavy damage weapon that I can't say. Do not want to spoil the surprise.
@hanxopx Java is recommended for Android. The Android SDK uses java and the Eclipse IDE as a default. Also Java is a much easier language to code in because it handles a lot of memory managing for you. C++ is normally better when coding for consoles
well dont forget the moto droid :). the nexus has a good CPU but the droid has a WAY BETTER GPU as the nexus. nice game. when will it be released ? greets.
Yes it will run on droid and any other device running the Android OS that can support 3D graphics. No official release date yet but I will keep everyone posted through youtube and dvidearts (dot) com
Yes. The Nexus One is one of the reasons I decided to include Android in the list of platforms I developer for. I wanted to be able to put high quality games with good graphics and have them run at a good frame-rate, now I can. This game plus Crusade Of Destiny will still be able to run great on older android devices as well but it's the Nexus that really attracted me to Android.

It seems like you should be able to tap the screen to shoot, instead of moving your finger back to the "button" every now and again.
Slide your finger to look around, tap to shoot? Sounds intuitive enough.

do you think games on Android will get a lot better now because of the Nexus one and its ability to run 3d games smoothly?
