I applaud you guys, foreal. I'm really encouraged and uplifted by the fact that some friends can come together and just chat about the state of hip hop. But I think ya'll can do it better. It's not much of a debate. Especially when you guys lift off good rappers from each side of the U.S., it's just how you feel about that rapper, there is no standard. I think you guys still need to analyze what makes good hip hop by studying its roots. Check out Michael Eric Dyson and cornel West for guidance.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. This was part of a class-produced TV show called "Random Access" that aired on a local cable channel. I will forward your comments to them, they are producing a new "hip Hop Debate" on Monday for next week's show. Your comments will be a help to them I'm sure. Thanks again, and watch for a new episode soon! Cheers.
very young out look on hip hop, but good convo...oh yeah Eminem doesn't own or run Aftermath, he's signed to Aftermath, Em runs Shady records
