  • One of the legendary guitarist of all time.

  • "Tiger Rag" was composed in 1917 by Nick LaRocca of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, one of the pioneering jazz bands. The Les Paul and Mary Ford version hit no. 2 on Billboard and no. 8 on Cash Box in 1952 when released as a Capitol Records single in the U.S.

  • vid won't play :(

  • I have that same 78. I happened on it when my grandpa let me go through his old phonographs. I also found Louis Armstrong's version of Hank Williams' "My Brakin' Heart".

  • amazing!

  • I just cant believe that thats him playing guitar, dont sound like it but its amazing!

  • @lauraxbraniganfan Don't forget Les Paul was the inventor of multi-track recording. He's using it here to modify the sound of his and Mary's guitars.

  • I posted a vid reponse to this for some more views of Les Paul. I think I have 5-6 vids with original 45's from my moms' RCA Victor.

  • This was recorded and released in late 1951...I believe this is the "Telefunken" {German} issue of the original Capitol release...the original 45 copies had Capitol's patented "O.C. 45" center, where you didn't need an "adapter" to play it on your turntable...

  • omgomgomg thnx u for putin that up..that was ossooooooooooo great!!

  • Absolutely great documentary -- "Les Paul: Chasing Sound" -- available via 'Play Now' or DVD from NetFlix. The DVD includes many full tracts. -- Bob
