  • Clearly not Miles Davis-defintely a modern recording-long after Miles was playing standards AND not in Miles style in any way, shape or form.

This video needs to be re-labeled or taken down-wouldn't want folks to hear this and confuse it with MIles

Check the link from adam7k to see the answer to WHO is playing-nice group-not Miles.

  • Какой идиот написал, что это Майлз?! Не позорьтесь!

  • Who are you tryin' to fool? Anybody that loves Jazz can hear that THIS ISN'T MILES SOUND, FRASEOLOGY, AESTHETICS, APPROACH, or, just to simplify, Miles Dewey Davis was a genius, an innovator, and never produced bad taste arrangements like this one.

THIS IS A FRAUD! This is not Miles playing here. You should be punished by law by deliberately lying and misguiding people that don't know enough of Jazz to distinguish the difference. It's a cultural crime, what you did.

  • @RuiAzul You're in bad taste. Have you heard Miles do ballads? He was impeccable and sentimental. 180 degrees opposite of the newer Miles stuff.

  • Again, this is NOT Miles, DELETE THIS, smoke getting into my ass.

You do not know what music is.

  • @kengee705 Just settle down, kengee. This may not be Miles, but this is excellent music.

  • que hubiera sido de la musica jazz sin males davis?? qlguien respondame esa pregunta

  • So who is it? Sounds awesome to me.

  • رائع جدا

  • Shit!!!!is not MILES DAVIS:))))))))0

  • im 72 and i love Jazz

  • people should get punished for misleading

  • Yep...the magics of the trumpet sound strikes again!! Wonderful instrument!! This classic song helps it too and same nice tune on Brian Ferry's voice...

  • Open horn sound is very good.

  • miles davis led me here, alas it was not him... but good sounds kept me here...nice.

  • Maravilloso!!!!

  • Is this really a trumpet? Sounds more like a cornet. That's why I think it could be R. Braff.

  • Am I the only one who finds it hilarious how everyone is arguing about who the artist is?

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds good though!

  • I didn't thimk this was Miles. Tone, phrasing, that's wasn't Miles.

  • Comment removed

  • whoever he is it is beautiful, anybody remembers Blue Mitchell?

  • It is not Miles and it is not Chet Baker.

  • It´s not Miles tone!

  • maldito negro, eres lo máximo!!!

  • so!, who plays this!

  • Hey ass hole players, U think U fooled round jazz fans? hard core jazz fans can recognized in a minute this is not miles.

Sell ur trumpet to metal recycler, quit music, U have no talent,

but U are very good about copying, so get a a job at KINKOS.

  • NOT MILES THIS IS RECORDED IN DIGITAL !! NICE TUNE JUST NOT MILES ....MILES DOES NOT PLAY THIS MUCH HE PUTS SO MUCH SPACE IN HIS PLAYING

  • NO ONE can play like him! he's 1 in 100 years! the KING of the trumpet!

  • that's miles! the signature RUN at the end is a dead giveaway...just a tad breathy! listen again! last few measures.

  • adam7k is correct. This is New York Unit! ref:?v=XyC0xAboaR4

  • Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy TheLittletan... This is not Miles !!!

  • howwwww

  • This is awesome. Mystery instrumentalists.

  • Hi Everyone. I know the answer watch?v=XyC0xAboaR4

    Cheers :)

  • @adam7k

Thanks a lot, so it's Hannibal Marvin Peterson from New York Unit.

I do hope people who want to go on guessing will note before that you've already solved the problem.

    Personally, I was quite sure it's Ruby Braff, watch e. g. (...)/watch?v=vb9UhI7pZnE :-)

  • @analogreproduction Yes, I can confirm that. Finally I was able to buy this album, so I'm sure that it's New York Unit with Hannibal Marvin Peterson on trumpet.

  • I don't think Miles Davies would play as a Mariachi! And I love Mariachis and Miles, but not togrther, please correct title or delete this track.

  • Please FIX THE DAMN TITLE! This sure as hell isn't Miles Davis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Name of the album, please!

  • I think this is the best Jazz tune on Youtube. No one knows who's playing and everyone likes it :)

  • The tune by american composer Jerome Kern(1884-1945)

  • People put this stuff up not sure who's even playing it... so weird. On top of that, you have to not have listened to much Miles to think this is Miles. You can tell Miles is 1.2 seconds if you've listened to him truly.

  • i think its coleman hawkins lol

  • Comment removed

  • This is Bryan Ferry, took me literally 1 minute to figure out. From an Album called "Another time, another place".

  • @Fruscianteistheman This is NOT Bryan Ferry - unless the version I found on youtube (in which he sings) is very different to his album, Another Time Another Place. The song was written in 1933 by Kern and Harbach.

  • @Fruscianteistheman

Yeah, everybody knows that Ferry plays trumpet since he was 2 years old !!!! LOL !!!!!

  • I think it's John Marshall.

  • IS NOT MILES, I THINK IS CHET BAKER with style of CLIFFORD BROWN

  • Mystery solved. The trumpeter's name is....*aaackkk*

  • This isn't Miles but I'm gonna find out who it is. I love a mystery.

  • Miles doesn't play like this!!!

  • Marvellous ! Sure that he is Miles !

    Thanks

  • it is almost the way like Freddie Hubbard plays, almost like!! This is not Miles of course although i like it

    Thaks for posting

  • Of course this is not Miles, can be Louis Smith or someone else ...

  • 100% this is NOT MILES!!! but is nice!

  • WONDERFUL BUT.... NOT MILES

  • I take a guess probably this is the record played by Art Farmer, not Miles.

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • Hey ! Instead of dispute who's it, let's go for a blind test , rack, rack, rack your brains

  • It sounds like some Chet Baker or a french group, must checked. It's not a so bad version : i'll talk you something gravier 'bout a guy who has tinked Bill Evans' songs on synthé and put Evans' cover on it,

  • WEED

  • This is very good, but THIS IS NOT MILES DAVIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice. It surely ain't Miles but nice though.

  • WOULD YOU PLEASE CHANGE THE TITLE OF THIS VIDEO OR REMOVE IT ??? How dare you using MILES' name for un unknown tune in your PC???

  • la sensualité de deux ames qui dansent sur cette musique...fusion des corps... envie de toi...viva la libido...viva la vida...

  • Does it really matter who this is? The point is that it sounds good!

  • All I know is this aint Miles, Wynton, Brownie, and only a fool would think this is Louis. It is nice though

  • @kingoliver45 The trumpeter is definitely not Miles Davis. I'd guess that he/she (probably he) is active post-1980, well trained in music college somewhere and probably white. Sounds very good but there's something very assured and sincere and smooth and even classically intoned (even though this is good stylistic jazz playing) about the notes that for instance you don't get with Freddie Hubbard who is frequently smooth but always has that surprise pizzazz and irreverance. Hard to describe it.

  • Another way of putting it is that the sound is very cultured which rubs some of the authenticity off, which you never get with Hubbard for instance.

  • @jonathantsbower I agree. To me Freddies playing has an almost sarcastic attitude. Not to take away his seriousness though. Freddie and Louis to me are the most amazing Trumpeters ive ever heard. But yeah this cat is def post 1980

  • I'm sure it's not Miles. I couldn't guess who plays it. Chris Botti, Forse..

  • nope---not miles or brownie.

  • Goooooooooood!

  • Davis and Brown are out of the question...this is some "Chris Botti" guy or like MrBacalov sad - maybe Marsalis... with much more modern influence and sounding

  • Who is? Think about Clifford, much more virtuoso (does not mean "better") than Miles was. I'm quite sure this is not Miles, maybe Marsalis, maybe not. In the end, who cares? Nice tune.

  • Only a damn fool would suggest that this is Clifford Brown !

  • If you believed this was Miles then you have never even listened to Miles ! LOL

  • Of course this is not Miles, not even close ! I believe it is some wannabe trying to impersonate Clifford Brown who actually did this piece (With Strings) but nobody can do Clfford Brown and be believable !!!

  • No, this isn't Miles!!!

  • Think this is Louis Armstrong...

  • I am playing this feature its awsome

  • doesn't sound like miles to me

  • I'd like to download this....can anyone tell who the artist REALLY is?

  • it is beautiful....but WHO is the artist?? I'd like to download it if I could just find it.

  • genial

  • This is Clifford Brown. Not Miles

  • @jazzmasta92 Mister "jazzmasta" you need to change your name if you really think this is Clifford Brown. I hope you're kidding. I can't even believe anyone is discussing this. Whoever this is is disrespectful to Miles Davis by posting this. He needs to take the time that he's using to post stupid things like this and practice. This is SAD!!!!!

  • @trump34 If you knew anything about jazz you would know this i not miles. First, miles does not use vibrato, and there is vibrato in this clip. Second the rhythm section dose not sound like a miles rhythm section. Also, miles dose not phrase the way this recording is phraed, (the articulation, the grace notes, and the runs). And lastly, it dose not sound like miles. So why dont you go back to the shed, and learn what jazz is. (Assuming you know, what the shed is).

  • @jazzmasta92 Are you retarded or something? Is it that you can't read or can't interpret? You said "this is Clifford Brown. Not Miles." Well, stupid, this is neither Clifford Brown or Miles is what I'm trying to tell your dumb ass. If you knew ANYTHING, you wouldn't think this is Clifford. I'm not a musician but I love the trumpet and jazz. I take it you are a musician and you don't have the ear I have. Once again, THIS IS NOT CLIFFORD BROWN, STUPID!!

  • @trump34 and if you are a jazz musician, why dont you post a viseo of YOU playing. Just so we all know if you are the real deal.

  • @jazzmasta92 This is some lame ass trumpet player trying to get views by posting that its "Miles." Its probably your sad ass because you're really defensive. Have you posted anything? BTW, the "woodshed" that you speak of is term used for honing your craft or practicing your instrument not learning "what jazz is." Why don't you learn what the terms you use mean? You sound really stupid.

  • This is clifford brown. Not Miles

  • This can not be Miles. 100%.

  • Questo non è Miles Davis

  • Doesn't sound like Miles or his band. Also it's a new sounding recording production wise. The bass has an amp sound. Would be suprised if it's Miles.

  • Miles Davis? Mah...

  • I don't think this is Miles.

    Which album contains this tune?

  • Actually i don't know......i have this tune on my pc and i believed it was miles. Now i must check!!

  • @TheLittletan Remove it, fool...

  • @bouage Maybe its Miles just not Miles Davis. This is sad. An insult to Miles Davis.

  • This is Clifford Brown. Not Miles

  • @trump34

Clifford Brown could still wipe his ass with any noises you could muster out of a trumpet. Show some respect.

  • @mikeandmike What are you talking about, you lame motherfucker? I'm not insulting Clifford Brown. I'm insulting whoever this sad bitch is on this video claiming he's Miles Davis. So stop being such a little fag and learn to read or interpret, at least.

  • @trump34 u mad?

  • @mikeandmike yep. how'd u know?

  • @mikeandmike And if you think this is Clifford Brown you are really LAME!

  • @trump34 glad that i don't

  • @bouage like clark terry

  • @bouage sounds like miles trumpet

  • Love anything Miles has done he will be missed. He reminds me of an old mate who died a few years ago (Clifford Gomes)

  • I love Miles however Clifford Brown is the best of this song still.

  • always brilliant!

  • Legend!
