I got a copy of Yvonne Craig's autobiography "From Ballet to the Batcave" personally autographed because I am friends with a former co-worker of hers. Yvonne has also sent me some nice autographed photos.
Actually, the Barbara Gordon/Batgirl character preceded the TV series, via the Batman comic. The first Batman comic with Barbara Gordon as Batgirl was released in late 1966; Craig joined Batman in 1967.
Yvonne Craig and Lynda Carter were two of the sexiest Live action Hero chicks. I only caught the replays of both shows back in the 80's/90's but man did they give a kid some very naughty dreams!
Yes that's right. The reason that the producers chose Yvonne Craig was strictly for her athletic prowess as a dancer. The fact that she was built like the proverbial brick "you know what" had nothing to do with it. The character of Batgirl was brought in to bring some life to the series. Now older boys and their dads might tune in and the little girls would have a role model based on 1960's standards.
@TheFrontrowkid Dance skills and all, Yvonne wasn't Dozier's first choice for Batgirl. It was former Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley, which ABC switched at the last minute to the new Custer series. Then, in some of the fastest casting ever, Dozier brought in the Batgirl we would all come to know and love.
I've seen the presentation reel with Batgirl and Killer Moth before, but every version was really washed out looking. The one they used for this interview is beautiful, colorful and clear! It needs to be added to a Batman tv series DVD someday, should that ever finally happen.
@theothertroll Hey coward if you have the balls which I doubt don't hide behind your computer if you have something to say and are as brave as you act do it to someones face.....messages and your little posts show your nothing but a little cock monkey still sucking on your mother clit and tit.
@theothertroll Evere here about how easy it is for someone with outstanding computer skills, plenty of time on their hands, who just waits for the smallest thing to set them off. So they take all the free time and rage and dedicate to finding out everything about someone. Where they live, who they know, their parents names and addresses, their family, even the name of their goldfish if they have one. Then one day maybe this week maybe it three years....who knows they wait and watch.
@theothertroll Then decide that "today is the day". It may be a nice quiet day for you or the person in question. They horror strikes. They come home find their family killed or everything they love gone because of something so small and stupid. But that is how life is. So simple to find someone really...then BANG they're dead. LOL
When I met Yvonne Craig back at Wonder Con 2006, she told me that she was absolutely relieved when she found out that Eartha Kitt was going to be Catwoman. She said that although she had a lot of respect for Julie Newmar, she knew it was gonna hard to pick a fight with someone who's 6 feet tall, while Yvonne herself stands at 5'4. True story.
So this dingy broad invented her own laser beam?? Oy....

The perpetually beautiful Yvonne Craig!

I think it's weird how this campy show created the idea of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and it has become a staple in the comics since.

As cheesy as this series was, I still love every minute of it. And I still want to bone Catwoman and Batgirl, hard ;)

She was the hottest chick of the 1960s. It Happened at the Worlds Fair? Smoking. Star Trek? Jesus.
