wow was the most user friendly game. You could be a 12 yr old kid and reach level 60. That was something they did right. But end game wise, it caters to hardcore elitist fans that makes the game no longer desirable.
Its an old game. Visually it really pushed the standards when it was first released. Gameplay wise. Its a little dull. The environment is uninspiring but the character models, armor and weapons looked fantastic back in the day. You didnt just purchase armor and swords for the stats. You purchased them because they looked good. But it was just too grind heavy, so I quit. wow was less grind heavy but still a very labor intensive game. So I eventually quit that too.
I have a question out of curiosity. I'm thinking of making the transition from WoW to this game. First of all, how do you like it? Would you recommend it? Secondly, can you toggle your helmet display so that it doesn't show on your character? That was something WoW did that I really liked.

@keyboardsport actually they are working more on DD gears for nin now! look at all of nin's af3+2 gears and my nin was doing 1k+ in abyssea blade: jin (as a taru) so nin is not DD i laugh lol... I also can put out ws quicker then most DD (not all but most) and now with our new spell where we give less tp to mobs with our subtle blow just rocks so we just dont tp feed em! and orginally nin were DD not tanks. we are DOT DD mainly but a well equiped nin that knows what hes doing can do some

The speed of the combat is determined by your gear and your class. If you're a mage you have a huge list of spells at your disposal and theres almost no minute where you're not playing, you have to take in account its a online mmorpg and there are other players around so it is all about balance. These are regular DD jobs with a DD subjob so theres not much abilitys at your disposal. Play a mage job or dancer and the combat speed goes way up.

@Deusmecha I'd just stick around and wait for FF14. Most FFXI players are going to that once it's out. FFXI was able to get away with its flaws when it first came out, but that was close to 7 years ago (NA). There could've been so much more done with FFXI to make it better, but in the eyes of today's gamers, the flaws are painstakingly obvious. FFXI = Great? No. FFXI is fun, but not as good as people have made it seem.

The problem with FFXI, and this is why I quit, is that it takes so bloody long to do anything in one sitting. It'd be okay if it took 3 years to get to lvl 75, but I can't constantly spare 8 hours at a time to do the necessary group events to progress through the game. Otherwise I loved the game - the music was amazing, the environments were beautiful and surreal. I loved doing stuff with groups (when it went well it was an awesome experience).
@Adamm4231 Completely agree, Epic in that game has no longer has any meaning. now its all about the "Heroic-Epic," whats next? Rare-Heroic-Epic? Its not like it won't be obtainable for everyone who tries it anyway just need the lucky drop and unfair roll and its yours!
FFX is the best Final Fantasy out there! there was so much in it, and all the mini games, and all this junk u could do. blitzball, all these different ways of getting the ultimate armors and weapons!

well no i have my own, i pay about £8.99 a month, if u live in the UK you can probably get a solo or maestro/switch which will work on european/UK FFXI. If USA ud need a mastercard/visa/american express.

Yea for sure, that may be true. But if you enjoy pvp alot as in World of warcraft, Aion, Warhammer online or whatever, you don't usually care about the graphics. Just aslong it's smooth and 60 fps! >:D

people play WoW because it sooooooo much easier than ff11. and plz tell me im wrong. how many people do you see in ff11 with end game gear compared to WoW where damn near everyone has at least tier9. i play both im not hating on wow im saying its a hell of a lot easier

No, I'm too busy in ICC 10/25 heroic, where it actually requires a decent amoint of skill to keep up a respectable amount of DPS, and stay alive. And no, not anyone. Do you know how many people, of the entire WoW-playerbase that's killed the LK on 25-man heroic? Less than 150 people. 150/12 000 000+ players. And you still think it's easy? I'm sorry, you're just uninformed. WoW is more than just 5-man instances.

@Elembivos skill you mean pushing the 1,2, and 3 keys. yes i do think its easy. the only reason people havent killed him yet is because its new. onyxia got revamped for level 80 and people wiped on that shit all the time. i give it a month or 2 more and everyone is gonna have there 25m lich king gear

@Adamm4231 Learn to read, genius. I mean it's so few that have killed him because of the sheer skill required to do so. And he's been out for a month by the way. And also, I spam 7 buttons, as well as having to keep track of 6 others. That is, recasting them once their timer has gone out. Onyxia was shit easy, only got revamped because it was it's anniversary. And anyone can kill him in 25-man normal, I'm talking about heroic mode. And I think that the 3 other guilds that have killed him agree.

The problem with FFXI, and this is why I quit, is that it takes so bloody long to do anything in one sitting. It'd be okay if it took 3 years to get to lvl 75, but I can't constantly spare 8 hours at a time to do the necessary group events to progress through the game. Otherwise I loved the game - the music was amazing, the environments were beautiful and surreal. I loved doing stuff with groups (when it went well it was an awesome experience).

FFX is the best Final Fantasy out there! there was so much in it, and all the mini games, and all this junk u could do. blitzball, all these different ways of getting the ultimate armors and weapons!
