  • swan lake :)

  • One of the most beautiful movies anyone could ever see. I loved Anna Karenina the first time I saw the movie and I still love Anna Karenina today.

  • I can't think of a more beautiful love story than this one. Loved every word of the book and every minute of the movie.

  • I have never seen movie... but I read book and I was on play in theatre "Anna Karenina" ... and I love that story! :) I wish I get this story as my question for graduation exam!

  • @HellesBringer It's very empty minded to compare great works like War and Peace and Anna Karenina with porn. These two sotries are more than just cheating on each other. You try to write books with dosins of characters, their lifes, their thoughts, their strenghts and weaknesses, historics events, morality and themes that touches the heart of poeple.

  • I'm sorry about that comment, it was harsh and thoughtless, I meant no disrespect. I was finally able to finish it yesterday and I have to say that it turned out quite interesting. I liked Levin's character more interesting than the main affair though.

  • very good film. I read that the original cut of the film is 140 minutes and has not been released to the public. this excellent version should be released in Region 1, and in a Director's Cut. The movie is very faithful to the novel.

  • Isnt Icon Mel Gibson's?

  • @S2TobeyS2, yes. Mr. Gibson was an uncredited producer on the film.

  • greatest novel of all time... barr none... sasha your sooo right anna has to be a real woman not some eleven year old gasin... Lauren Gramh would make an unbeleivable anna in my mind...

  • Lauren Graham?! You're KIDDING, right?! Anna also has to be SOPHISTICATED. Not some C list actress.

Regardless, this film was positively exquisite. It isn't entirely faithful to the novel, but still an absolute masterpiece in itself.

  • death and becomes a kitten with a whip. Play this movie T O T A L L Y F R E E at Movie WATCHER . US

  • Excellent trailer for a wonderful movie. Vivien Leigh did a great job as Anna, but Sophie Marceau did much better, because this film was much more faithful to the novel. what's the piece of music that begins at 0:46?

  • is the beginning (and the end too) of the second act of Tchaikowsky's Swan Lake

  • thanks. could someone PLEASE contact Warner Bros. and ask them to get the Director's Cyts of this wonderful movie and "The Avengers" on DVD?

  • Waltz from Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky)

  • thanks. could someone PLEASE contact Warner Bros. & ask them to release the Director's Cuts of this wonderful movie and "The Avengers" on DVD?

  • It is soo horrible...

Foreigner people will never undersand russian classic and this actress is not Anna Karenina because Anna Karenina is typical russian beauty but this actress is very european.

You should see movie with Tatiana Samoilova, she is real Anna Karenina.

  • Eres un idiota, Sophie es la mas bella de todas

  • ohh please, Sophie is beautiful, Tatiana Samoilova was not that young to play Anna and was hard to believe the story playing by her, and speaking of 'typical russian beauty', Samoilova has got dark slanting eyes.. not 'typical russian beauty' at all.. dont be such a snob, dear Sasha

  • @SashaVolga she looks like a lot of russian girls to me (and being russian myself i know what im talking about)

  • sophie marceau is too lightweight as Anna Karenina, Vivien Leigh did a perfect job as the doomed woman!... In my opinion anyway.

  • What is the musical piece that starts at 1:37? Isn't it from a ballet? I always wondered what the title was.

I really need to see this film. Sean looks so hot in it.

  • How come I've never heard of this?? Just read the novel this summer. Its brilliant. Look forward to seeing the movie.

p.s. A Bond girl as Anna. Nice.

  • @KonvoyChief, you should really see this excellent movie. you will love it. My dear and good friend TheVictorianLady2 has uploaded the film. It's very faithful to the novel, and you'll enjoy it. It's got Tchaikovsky's beautiful music, authentic Russian locations (the movie was filmed in Russia) and top-notch acting from everyone, especially the gorgeous Sophie Marceau as Tolstoy's tragic heroine.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet I love this version too. But unfortunately TheVictorianLady got her account suspended and the movie itself has been removed from YouTube. Stupid copyright claims! I think an unrated director's cut of this movie NEEDS to be released to everybody on DVD STAT because this movie's original cut is gonna be awesome!

  • @KonvoyChief so since you have read this book, I have a question. You see, i have read almost a quarter of this novel - and I'm trying to finish its just that when it comes to the meticulous detailing of farming and levin and his life i get awfully bored and simply want to skip them - so my question is - will the novel be less engrossed by Levin and focus more on the story?

  • @DreamCH456 Hi there :) I think I can answer your question. I have just finished reading Anna Karenina book and I think that if you skip those details of farming, it will be no harm. I also find them very boring... but in other quarters it will be more interesting, so don't give up reading :)

  • No,no.You should read the book at first, because many things skip in this movie.

I think everybody should read this brilliant book.

BUT!!! This movie is fantastic!!! I love Sean Bean and Sophie Marceau.

    Gorgeous!!!!!

  • Do you know if Levin is in the movie? He was my favorite part of the book. My own revulsion of affairs made it hard for me to like Anna and Vronsky, but I would so see the movie if Levin and Kitty play a big part. Thanks for the trailer. ^_^

  • yes, he is here too

  • sophie is so beautiful in this movie, really !!!!!!

  • This movie is nothingagainst the book. Yes it's long, but it is worth every page. Legendary... If I may say, the production design was dull, and the movie lacked even half of the weight of the original. I admit that the book is impossibly long to condence into a two hour (?) movie, but it could be better than this.

  • 800 pages.....i should have watched the movie first
