The boxart makes the keyboard look like something from the mid-80s. But once it's out of the box it looks like something from the late 90s.  But it still looks futuristic!

The w and e keys on my Saitek Eclipse II became unresponsive after a year or so. I "fixed" it by sticking rolled up pieces of paper underneath the keycaps which forced more pressure onto the contact sheets below. I've given up on rubber dome keyboards altogether...went and splurged on a Filco. It may be expensive but I figure it would save me money in the long run considering the number of rubber dome keyboards I've gone through in a short period of time.

saitek products are trash. I warned my wife but she didnt listen to me and bought one. It stopped working properly within the year.

@1GamingCentral Steelseries Stealth Merc. Cheap and can run perfectly after a year or two. If your budget is better, go for the Logitech G series

@Sysinput i have both and they're essentially the same keyboard. only thing you lose is the screen (which doesnt have many uses anyway - at least not worth the extra price). G110's built in sound card is also a plus, but also not that useful if using discrete soundcard.... i kinda wish i didn't get my G19 just coz i paid so much more than the G110 :P

@roflatopus True, except in the case of their R.A.T. Mice, which aren't flashy or good looking really at all, and tons of buttons and modifiable shit, etc.. I'm getting the R.A.T. 9 soon, but I'll be sticking with my Alienware TactX keyboard....

Aw fuck. My dad has already ordered a SteelSeries 64049 Black USB Wired Merc Stealth Illuminated Gaming Keyboard and i'm kind of disappointed because i asked for it but have started to realize it's going to take all my keyboard space... This just looks so much nicer and for the same price too.

Poor quality product. Probably a $10 keyboard has a better typing feel than this one. I regret wasting my money on this. Sticky, inconsistent keys..Also, mine died in 4 month and I am glad it did because it gave me a reason to switch to filco cherry brown..

Guys I've had two of these break now within 3 years, the first one after 20 months which was replaced under warranty, and the replacement about 14 months after that.

The keys are crap, and they get ruined by repetitive hard presses over a long time of use (I.E. while gaming).

The keys eventually stop working after they have been mashed on for about a year or two, plus the coating on them is very weak and scratches / fades fast.

I had a saitek eclipse before it, and that worked for 4+ years.

I liked it, but it has its flaws, and I would not recommend it to anyone anymore due to the large amount of choices out there.

This keyboard is not bad though, and still worth it if your looking for something flashy.

I like this keyboard because of the customisable backlights (I want orange + red, not blue), and that it has fully powered USB and audio jacks.

But I've had two break now, and cant find a red backlit keyboard at under £50 with the same powered hubs that this one has!

So what I will do is just buy another Saitek Cyborg V7, and in a years time use that reciept to RMA my current broken one, and also if anything goes wrong with the new one, it will have 2 years warranty anyway.

@NJditt Don't buy razer keyboards, I got a lycosa and it sucks the big one, funny thing was as I was typing this, the A key decided that it would stop working. So I had to unplug and plug it back in to get the keyboard to work. In fact, all of the razer stuff I have bought has either had poor manufacturing quality, or was a generally bad product.

I bought this keyboard a few years ago, and I've been using it since. Only now and then have i changed with smaller or lowkey types of keyboards to try somthing different. This keyboard is really good, although the lightning is not as powerfull as i wanted it to be. The keys are white cut, so even during day time or without the LED's on, you can easily see the letters :)

I paid like 50 dollars for it, as used. A few keys stopped working, so they gave me a brand new keyboard. Saitek is awesome.

@thesub225 Macro keys only save key combinations.

they are mainly for Gamers, so that in game you can have Guild recruitment msg's saved to one key so you dont have to type an entire paragraph out. or to save a spacific key combo for combat.

dont get me wrong, there may be a way, but i doubt it would be worth it.

there are MANY keyboards out there with an internet explorer button, like media keyboards.

you could find/make a windows hotkey.. then you write the hotkey combo to the C key.

@robthatguyx the best would be from cherry. there keyboards are around 330$ and have a shitload of macro keys that allow you to change heir physical appearance with icons for each macro. oh and did i mention it has a credit card scanner?

@bubba97h macroable keys are basically a single key/button on a device (that comes with proper software), and you can program this one key/button to perform a series of key commands.

Example, lets say you play MMO games, and you are looking for people to join your Guild/Kin/Clan you can program this one key/button to write out your entire message when you press it. (saves time)

they are basically keys you program to complete a key combination task.

it doesn't really downgrade the video quality, it only uploads it to 360p, when it records in 720p HD, i hope they eventualy allow 720 direct uploads from the iphone.
