(50 years ago!) but I think it is---thanx for the post

  • Wie oft, habe Ich als Soldat von meiner Frau geträumt, als Ich weit weg war. Ein Kissen, auf dem sie geträumt hat, von mir, wäre mir ein Geschenk gewesen, nur das wurde nicht befördert.

  • Hold on to your pants and don't laugh. This song is wonderful, but listen to Dean Martin's version of this song...You are in for a treat. Dean sings the hell out of this song.

  • @gdl0748 Too true the best version-l say this even as an ardent Jim Reeves' fan Denos' version is the best of them all

  • What a great voice. Johnny Tillotson was so good and was so much better that the original singers.

  • whoaaa.. great song...

  • Kár,hogy már nem énekel lemezre.

    Nagy hangja van ,nagyon szeretem.

  • Golden Oldies....!!! Love 'em... :)

  • Simply the greatest oldies. Thanks for this great share.

  • Johnny sang it first. He is from Jacksonville, Florida. Went to John Gorrie JR High and Robert E Lee High.

  • @Larrywg1 I believe Hank Locklin (country chart) sang it before Tillotson according to my Joel Whitburn research book or perhaps yopu meant Tillotson was the first pop singer to chart it....excuse me!

  • @jekiwe Hank Locklin composed it and was the first to sing it -but it never became a hit until the 1960's

  • anyone leaving this earth and having not listened to this song by Johnny has really missed the best part of his or her life. Just close your eyes and drift off to the next world.

  • @patktl sooo true!!

  • love johnny s version of this .you can believe that he,s singing to his sweetheart

  • love johnny s version of this .you can beleive that he,s singing to his sweetheart

  • And yes here I am another one who swooned to this music fresh in the charts when I was 14, not saying the year that was, but still that young girl still.

  • A few decades ago, when love was new and heartbreak unthought of, I asked my girl friend to do something like this. Since sending her pillow was impractical, I would bring mine to her place, and have her put perfume on it right before we would part company. The scent lasted for days if not longer. Only later, after we split, did I find out I could have had her put perfume on the love letters she used to send.

  • Like, the Hank Locklin version is good, but this one is awesome. Way to go, babe!

  • Thanks from Croatia

  • Tillotson covered a lot of great songs with his great voice and style

  • Dean Martin does this song very well also.

  • He is th ultimate of all singers, that voice and his kindiness is the best

  • " Quality " real music, not like the modern rubbish!

  • LOve it

  • how many of you guys listening to this remember it on the radio. i do and it sounds as good today as it did all those years ago, my god it must be over 50 years.

  • Holy crap, this is the inspiration for The Smiths' "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others"! (Send me your pillow / the one that you dream on / and I'll send you mine.)

  • h2ollie Sorry, I should have said, "most young folk of today". Glad to hear someone of your age listening to Johnny, keep it up.

  • Haven't heard this song in years. Used to have the 45, but now the ex has all those great oldies. Johnny was one of the best - considered country, but always on the pop charts too.

  • boy-o-boy, this is singing at its best, young folk of today cant sing like this!!

  • @MJamieson77 I'm thirteen, I have been listening to the oldies while in my mums womb. I have different style of singing this. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. I've always sounded like Joan Baez, I never want my voice to sound any different.

  • @h2ollie keep on listening to those great old singers, something people of all ages should appreciate..just a few suggestions: Platters, Roy Orbison, Bobby Darin, Jay and the Americans, Lesley Gore, Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Cline, Karen Carpenter, and of course, Elvis.....

  • @ITILII Thanks for the suggestions :} I love Elvis and Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Cline and ofcourse Karen Carpenter :D

  • @ITILII I agree with you on all of the singers you mentioned. I also would include the Everly Brothers.

  • this brings back some memories good old 60s days of real music

  • Recalling the easy and simple years of the early 60's. Thank you for uploading.

  • I am from Palatka Fl. I love Johnny Tillotson, and all of the oldies he has done. Johnny came to Berlin Germany to the Officers Club and I got to see him do a full concert there. Hope all is well with you Johnny. Still enjoying your music. Thank you, Cindy

  • Love it! Thank you x
