  • Wow I remember this place. I would love to see it in tact. This just shows how wrong politicians can be. The brass mill mall was the dream, but last time I was there it had a bunch of vacancies and small businesses trying to hang on. Nostalgia alone would've been enough to bring me back to the Naugatuck valley mall. What a shame.

  • I'm so glad I got to see this video. Memories 3

  • Sorry you lost your mall bruv.

  • The lack of lighting in the old mall is what I remember most about it. The stores were nice but the prices of the movie theatre was very high.

I did learn to drive in the mall parking loss though.

  • Its really cool that someone thought to take a video of the mall before it was torn down completely. I wish that there was a video of the inside of the mall when it was still completely intact. but wow! I really forgot what Wolcott St. used to look like!

  • As most have said lots of old memories here

  • I miss this place. My mom worked here and I spent alot of time there as a result. Bought alot of my favorite stuff there too. I'm glad they tore it down instead of it becoming the craphole that BMC became.

  • Thanks for the memories. I just about lived there when I was a teenager. about 40 years ago

  • I don't remember it to well I was 8 by the time it was torn down. But I know I was there a few times.

  • Awesome video! Grew up in that mall as well. Some stores I remember.

Jean country, gnc, JW, baskin robins, A&W across from exspresso. K B toys, friendlies, waldens book store, travel agency, that store that had the giant ass gold fish(not the pet store) and the best one.... GWIZ!! It was like the Spencer stores they have now. I know there are a shit load more, just cant think of them right now. Anyone else?

  • This vid depresses me half to death!

  • Lotsa memories from childhood going to this mall. McCrory's, Expresso Restaurant, etc. Saw many great movies at that little movie theater (Star Wars movies, E.T.). Really miss that place.

  • this mall was the shit,i remember throwing money in the fountain like it was yesterday.

  • Wow! There's a significant part of my childhood. Very sad.......

  • use to rob that shit hole blind sorry teams plus, mcory's,and sam goody.

  • wow i use to hang out here all the time. me and my friends would walk from north main street or skip school to go there. it is on wolcott street where walmart/stop and shop now sit. You couldn't get a kid to walk anywhere now. The mall could be the next block over and they want a ride! That's why they are so fat! we were thin kids back then because we didn't mind walking or taking our bikes.

  • @TheWaterburian Yes it was a nice place if you wish to go for a walk. I also walked to the mall on the weekends.

  • this video of the old Naugatuck Valley Mall is ( if you live in waterbury) wolcott road where walmart/stop and shop/bobs etc is. I use to hang out here all the time. We walked there from north main street. Now you couldn't get a kid to walk anywhere and that is why they are so fat!!

  • Damn! I spent more time than I care to admit at this place back in the 80's. When the weather was lousy, it was pretty much the only place to go. I remember running the gauntlet through the parking lot past the Novas and Camaros, trying to remain as invisible as I could to the groups of headbangers. ... I feel old.

  • @oc1285 lmao you just made me feel old and i am one of the headbangers lmmfao i have not heard that term in forever.

  • @GunzCoty

I salute you! The headbangers (I live in LA now and when I use the term, people look at me funny) WERE Waterbury in the '80's! Without you guys, the place would've had half the personality that it did!

  • Wow, this was a good video. It brought back memories. I have had a lot of good times there going back to high-school days. There was a place between Two Guys and this mall under the road we used to do out partying back in high school times. Meeting girls there, the head shops the other trendy stores made for our generation. Good to see you did these films. Thank you for posting.

  • I saw Ghostbusters in the dinky little movie theater in there. This vid makes the mall look way bigger than i remember it being.

  • Good video....when i was a really young kid this mall was very new and remember coming here was a big deal they had the 2nd G.fox store here with a cool sky light on the upstairs floor and a place called Mcrorys where my mom, brother and i used to have breakfast.Remember Alling rubber sports? The had one here....Fond memories but things do change. Thanks for the vid it was a cool idea.

  • wow that brought back some memories....the floors in this mall were worn soooo smooth- my brother won a pinewood derby in this mall- they had a really cool piano store here too- miss that place!

  • this was a cool little mall ,now in its place theres a fuckin walmart an some other shitty stores

  • ok ive been here for 10 years where excatly was this at location street land marks etc....

  • Lots of memories at this mall, it was the hangout!

  • where was it? what street?

  • @malleymyster It was on Wolcott street where walmart is

  • i wish i could have remembered this more and actually hung out on my own here i was way too young

  • I remember the head shop next to the theater...you could get the day- glo poster of the afro couple makin love to the zodiak signs...also those lame- ass puppets of santas workshop...they shoulda saved this as a 1970's shrine!

  • I used to go to this mall till they built the new one

  • aw man i was only 3 :(

  • nice vid. music is redundant though. Slow sweeping shots with some reference to common everyday visuals, relay the gravite of these type abandoned sites.

  • only mall u could buy numchucks and brasss knuckles at...chess king....and i miss expresso pizza....who owned that..wish theyd re-open

    brings back memories for sure

  • @chromedreamz

Nah man you are thinking of east and west where you could buy the wepons. And also the headbangers patches for the jean jackets.

  • Memories. That was the hangout!

  • where can i find pictures of this mall? :(

  • This brings me back. I am an eighties child, and I spent so many days here with my grandparents. Waterbury was never a nice place during my lifetime, but I lived off my grandparents' memories, when this was where everyone wanted to move TO, not FROM.

I wish I could have seen it...

  • I have wonderful memories of this mall. I wish it was still around. This city has really gone down hill fast! Brass Mill Center is getting trashier every day. :(

  • I had alot of fun in that mall as a kid, I used to stay in the pet store playing with the birds and small mammals while my mom shopped, I put alot of pennies in the water fountain in there, I hope those wishes I made come true one day. I miss those days, and the Naugatuck Valley Mall

  • As a kid I use to frequent this area/mall because there use to be someplace called Phoenix Records near there. My parents drove 45mins for me to go to that store and they'd go to this mall. I remember we'd get pizza. Back in '99 I went to revisit that record store w/my friend and we stopped by the old mall and went inside like you did! Except we interrupted a prostitute and her "client" going at it in one of the stores! We freaked out and ran. That image is still burned in my memory.

  • @thrasher123 phoenix is still their actually

  • @thrasher123 the prostitute story was priceless lmao

  • i worked at the sears in 1983 ate expresso pizza every day for lunch wow a long time ago

  • spend many hours in this mall hanging out and sleeping at sears for concert tickets

  • Awesome. I loved it!

  • WoW...I havent llived in CT since 1987 and was 9 when we moved to Florida, but I have ALOT of great memories at this mall with my grandparents...they used to live in royal crest the apartments right behind the mall and we used to walk there often =( sad the city has turned to such shit =(

  • Waterbury people suck, people there turn everything to crap there

  • pretty rad, check out my videos for some decay in CT.

  • I miss the old mall!! Alot of Great memories!! Thanks for posting all the footage

  • remember when they had the "smoking" sections right at each end of the mall....and that pimp ass small little pizza place that was right by one of the exits?? memories

  • Pretty soon the Brass Mill Center will look as crappy as this one did.

  • very soon I'm sure...already has a lot of vacant store lots....such is waterbury i guess

  • Wow, brings back great memories! Music sucks, though.

  • ...and that's coming from someone whose account has a bunch of Kiss videos on it. Talk about Suck with a capital S. Fuckin' clowns.

  • @AlPist The music is very chilling, brings back memories, thanks for the video, I almost forgot how this place looked.

  • wow... i remember this mall. pretty cool you got footage of it before they took it down.
