@proREFbrder I'm in the 6th grade NOW and I LOVE this stuff. Beck is awesome, and Odelay is my favourite album. It must have been awesome to turn on the radio and hear good music like this, instead of what gets airtime these days.
I am not endorsing resentment towards our government. What I am using in my arguments is based on facts and very little is collected of my personal opinion(s).
@scaldabanco357. You're absolutely right, it has been several months since I've posted anything about this. In fact it's been so long, that anyone still taking the time to read up and dwell on it should really get a life. Originally, I commented about how I miss the 90's, and some moron started arguing telling me how wrong I was for missing the 90's. That's how all of this started. So please, quit wasting your time.
Kratos 284, compare roller-coaster mile-marks in history with with unemployment, heath-care costs, and government debt rising to unprecedented exponential levels not seen in U.S. History, albeit world history. Current living theorists and believers of apocalyptic prophecies are swearing upon these financial conditions as solid evidence of the "soon-to-come" rapture. And yes there was a very meager financial crisis of the early 1990's, but it clearly does not compare to this.
@cpetitt9704 Those theorist and believers are retarded. And there was worst recession before the 90s one throughout the 70s. All that "unemployment, health care costs and debt" has happened before in times before we were even born. I would also like to add the 90s also had boy bands and cheap green sweaters. Nuff said/
@Kratos284 - The hell there hasn't been any change in this decade from the last two... Several things have happened in the last 10 years that have made americans both fearful and broke. Can't really compare this to the 90's recession can U? And what about the 'terrorist attack' that happened in the beginning of this decade? We were once secure and proud as americans and I can assure you and anyone else whom challenges my opinions; we are not now. We have lost faith in our government and economy.
@cpetitt9704 Losing faith in the government and the economy? The late 60s and 70s will like to talk to you. Its like a roller coaster. First we have a crisis (Cuban Missiles, 9/11, Damn near every decade sees a recession etc) then we become proud Americans. Then it quickly fades to people going tback to not caring or being against the government. Every decade can be seen as shitty. Culturally or Politically. the 90s are not different.
Beck, or somebody, really made use of the Akai s900 sampler on this record...I think it's still the most creative use of sampling I've ever heard.
Sadly Beck has never been able to take his recent work anywhere near the other-wordly sounds of this gem, many artists influenced by Beck have improved and perfected this sound however.
@cpetitt9704 Thats bullshit. Cmon man, dont drown in Nostalgia. The Rodney King Riots? The disaster of Woodstock 99? etc. Every decade has an ugly and peaceful side, there has been no improvement or decay.
I'm not the God of striation to arbitrary values been ascribed. That's my faith though. Every particle is a shade of grey though. The neutrinos are meant for the didgeridoos. ZOOB TUBE
Ok, Ok, I can talk this through. I'm Christian. It requires some afterlife. That doesn't denote Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. Its kind of hard to get to there retrogradiantly. You'd have to go duck hunting too many times and make pie for Christmas day in hell with their testicles.
True story, the first 13 seconds are my ringtone.
