  • True story, the first 13 seconds are my ringtone.

  • the sax is magical

  • This song sounds like it belongs in an Austin Powers movie. . .X-P

  • At 0:15 you can hear Koopa Troopa's theme.

  • god, I wish I had the song writing ability that Beck has

  • he's coming to my city in January

  • GOD I CAN'T STAND IT. i LOVE this song.

  • it was like 1966 in 1996

  • For some reason. . .this song has a very "Austin Powers" feel to it to me. . .X-D

  • Groovy.

  • good stuff....

  • great tune

  • This song has always described my future wife, for me. Where are you, my love?

  • someone should put the opening on a loop

  • @dismemberednecromorf look up "paid in full" that might be it

  • I love the bass line to this...although Beck does kinda owe a little debt to the Beatles for it (ever heard Taxman?)

  • @jplew138 True that. An awesome bass line like that deserves to be in more song than one though.

  • @jplew138 I hear "Within You and Without You" in the vocal melody/style too.

  • Thumbs up if you heard this song on the radio!!

  • This music reminds me of Koopa Troopa in Super Mario Kart.

  • the beginning of this always reminds me of elf

  • i love this song every beck song just makes me wanna dance!

  • Beck is the best.

  • the beginning reminds me of some raley's commercial.....

  • best intro ever and soo catchy :D beck rules!

  • awesome memorie,s i had this tape when i was in 6th grade

  • @proREFbrder I'm in the 6th grade NOW and I LOVE this stuff. Beck is awesome, and Odelay is my favourite album. It must have been awesome to turn on the radio and hear good music like this, instead of what gets airtime these days.

  • HOOHA for Beck!

  • I was eating lunch with girlfriend at Chili's and this came on! I mentioned to gf and then odelay became the discussion topic.

  • The beat is very similar to Chemical brothers - let forever be, no? Both decent tracks.

  • d0 d0 da d0 d0 d0 d0 d0 d0 d0 !

  • Groovy tune!

  • i am sorry, but what is that jumping that rail??? looks like a dog! o_O!

  • @radionut63 Mop dog!

  • MTV would be nothing in the 90's without this riff.

  • omfg, enjoy the song, this is youtube, not goddamn debate class.

  • @Utimez5 Truer words never spoken, my friend. calm down people.

  • I am not endorsing resentment towards our government. What I am using in my arguments is based on facts and very little is collected of my personal opinion(s).

  • @cpetitt9704 I realize this was months ago, just wanted to point out that you're an idiot.

  • @scaldabanco357. You're absolutely right, it has been several months since I've posted anything about this. In fact it's been so long, that anyone still taking the time to read up and dwell on it should really get a life. Originally, I commented about how I miss the 90's, and some moron started arguing telling me how wrong I was for missing the 90's. That's how all of this started. So please, quit wasting your time.

  • @cpetitt9704 Any time as long as it's not today, I say.

  • Kratos 284, compare roller-coaster mile-marks in history with with unemployment, heath-care costs, and government debt rising to unprecedented exponential levels not seen in U.S. History, albeit world history. Current living theorists and believers of apocalyptic prophecies are swearing upon these financial conditions as solid evidence of the "soon-to-come" rapture. And yes there was a very meager financial crisis of the early 1990's, but it clearly does not compare to this.

  • @cpetitt9704 Those theorist and believers are retarded. And there was worst recession before the 90s one throughout the 70s. All that "unemployment, health care costs and debt" has happened before in times before we were even born. I would also like to add the 90s also had boy bands and cheap green sweaters. Nuff said/

  • I love Beck.

  • @Kratos284 - The hell there hasn't been any change in this decade from the last two... Several things have happened in the last 10 years that have made americans both fearful and broke. Can't really compare this to the 90's recession can U? And what about the 'terrorist attack' that happened in the beginning of this decade? We were once secure and proud as americans and I can assure you and anyone else whom challenges my opinions; we are not now. We have lost faith in our government and economy.

  • @cpetitt9704 Losing faith in the government and the economy? The late 60s and 70s will like to talk to you. Its like a roller coaster. First we have a crisis (Cuban Missiles, 9/11, Damn near every decade sees a recession etc) then we become proud Americans. Then it quickly fades to people going tback to not caring or being against the government. Every decade can be seen as shitty. Culturally or Politically. the 90s are not different.

  • reminds me of the bass in taxman

  • Beck, or somebody, really made use of the Akai s900 sampler on this record...I think it's still the most creative use of sampling I've ever heard.

Sadly Beck has never been able to take his recent work anywhere near the other-wordly sounds of this gem, many artists influenced by Beck have improved and perfected this sound however.

  • i love the ninetys... barely remember em but these songs make me feel nostalgic

  • love that sax

  • The 90's era was so much more peaceful than the way it is right now. I miss the mid-90's this song takes me back to great times.

  • @cpetitt9704 Thats bullshit. Cmon man, dont drown in Nostalgia. The Rodney King Riots? The disaster of Woodstock 99? etc. Every decade has an ugly and peaceful side, there has been no improvement or decay.

  • taxman's base line :D

  • Wasn't the beginning of this song used in a commercial or something?

  • one of the best songs of the 90's no doubt

  • awesome :D

  • which way is the dog jumping

  • @kowboyzz he's jumping left, you can even see his little nose :D

  • Just beautiful and creative like most of his songs..........

  • this song gets me all nostalgic

  • the artwork, i thought it was a wild haystack but my lil bro said it was beck's hair tied up XD

  • It's actually a dog...called a komondor

  • It looks like a porcupine made out of mops jumping a hurdle. Brilliant.

  • one of my favs of the album..

  • i love this song!!!i agree with Awhit420!!rock on!!

  • now people seem to be talkin crazy so ill give it a shot:

Firing kittens from a shotgun, eating chap stick i stole from her purse, kicking babies till all of my toes break, taking a leak in your shoes.

  • @honeynutsandcheerios its basically just MistaMANG

  • David's plague? My mom's brother has GOT THE Tevo, Adam Horowitz. Dianetical? Biomedical?

  • How's your particular karma? Is it karmic? How many? Its from that time you brushed your nipple. I know the feeling. Talk to life insurance.

  • I'm not the God of striation to arbitrary values been ascribed. That's my faith though. Every particle is a shade of grey though. The neutrinos are meant for the didgeridoos. ZOOB TUBE

  • Ok, Ok, I can talk this through. I'm Christian. It requires some afterlife. That doesn't denote Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. Its kind of hard to get to there retrogradiantly. You'd have to go duck hunting too many times and make pie for Christmas day in hell with their testicles.

  • the last tick bit me on the back of my heart at the shoulder blade! survival of the heat seeking moist evil

  • Has that 50's ish soundy kinda riff to it.

  • takes me back to the 90s :)

  • This "Thcuru thuchu" dont get out of my head OMG

  • @jcgp1993 hahahahahah true

  • i like the part like after the weird singing

  • Takes me back to days gone by....great song

  • I adore the opening for this song.
