There is no comparison between female and male circumcision because the reason behind why they are carried out are totally different. MALE circumcision is a fitrah (must be done) in Islam. Female circumcision was a old culture done in Arabia( and pretty much around Asia and Africa). When the prophet was asked about female circumsion, the prophet said that it isn't forbidden but if a person insisted it be done(due to culturally reason) then they are not allowed to cut they clitoris but only the prepuce.
I did find this hadith though. " There is a Hadith reported by Umm 'Atiyyah: "A woman used to perform circumcision in Madinah. The Prophet (s.A.w.) said to her: 'When you circumcise, do not cut severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband.'" Again, it isn't forbidden or allowed, but if one wishes to do it then Islamicaly they shouldn't cut off the clitoris.

Firstly, FGM does not mutilate the vagina, but the vulva. The most common form is hood removal, which is 100% analogous to male circumcision. Girls have a foreskin too.
Secondly, even if the mechanics differ, male and female genital cutting can be lumped together for one simple reason. They are both disgusting, painful, and destructive practices forced on non-consenting children.

There is no comparison between female and male circumcision because the reason behind why they are carried out are totally different. Male circumcision is done to help prevent infection and build up of bacteria underneath the foreskin, female circumcision is done purely so a woman cannot enjoy sex or have sexual desires

My brothers did not have circumcision by my mother's choice and they have never complained about any issues aside from others' attitudes and yes some male circumcision can be blotched and affect the male child forever and their ability to have orgasm and perform. It also keeps the head covered, so it does not become desensitized as it rubs against your pants. Circumcised men experience only a fraction of what uncircumcised men experience.

Amazing that these silly religious people don't see their own contradiction: First, they teach us that God created the human body according to His design. I like my men that way, its cleaner, and like I said before my friend was 9 and had to do it because it got infected and as for cutting body parts off because its infected they do everyday, if they didnt you could die from the spred of infection...

Do you suppose that the female foreskin (clitoral hood and inner labia) is any cleaner than male foreskin - on what grounds?! Only the USA circumcises most of its baby boys non-religiously. European men are glad to be genitally intact. Most US guys are mutilated at birth. Google "foreskin function". The male body is NOT yours to control!

My husband does not complain about not feeling anything, he feels everything, why? He lets Moma know and for it being cleaner, yes, if you do not pull it back and clean, it will get dirty and infected and it will be removed, and yes females are diff than males, for one ours is in the inside, you cut ours, its like cutting off your penis.

The RISKS of the operation (not to mention the LOSS of sexually functional tissue) probably outweigh alleged benefits. Not a single peidatric/medical society recommends routine male circumcision. The Canadian Paediatric Society in its advice to doctors says: "CIRCUMCISION OF NEWBORNS SHOULD NOT BE ROUTINELY PEROFRMED".

Women circumcised can have an orgasm since their vagina is steel intact, they just can't masturbate, exactly like circumcised men can't masturbate them like normal men.
The real problem about male and female circumcision is psychologic problems and the child rights.

Female circusision is not the total ablation of the clitoris, they cut the clitoral hood or the extern part of the clitoris; women can feel pleasure but a lot less.
Male and female circumcision is the same thing but in one case, this is made in US and by Jewish so it's considered as "normal".

Islam is based on two sources, The Quran and The Hadith. Male Circumcision is practiced done around the world, not just in Muslim communities. There is not hadith that says that femal circumsiion is allowed. Since you claim there is, please provide me the volume and the chapter of the hadith. Trust me, you won't find one. :)

One is: "Circumcision is customary ("sunnah") for men, and a noble action for women" (Related by Ahmad & al-Bayhaq). In another Hadeeth, Mohammed sees a girl being circumcised, and instructs the female circumciser: "Do not cut severely, as that is better for women and more desirable for a husband.'" (Related by Abu Dawud & al-Bayhaq). This suggests Mohammed's approval of non-radical forms of female circumcision.

MALE circumcision is a fitrah (must be done) in Islam. Female circumcision was a old culture done in Arabia( and pretty much around Asia and Africa). When the prophet was asked about female circumsion, the prophet said that it isn't forbidden but if a person insisted it be done(due to culturally reason) then they are not allowed to cut they clitoris but only the prepuce.

I did find this hadith though. " There is a Hadith reported by Umm 'Atiyyah: "A woman used to perform circumcision in Madinah. The Prophet (s.A.w.) said to her: 'When you circumcise, do not cut severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband.'" Again, it isn't forbidden or allowed, but if one wishes to do it then Islamicaly they shouldn't cut off the clitoris.

circumcison isn't mention in the quran so it isn't an important aspect of Islam But following the sunnah of the prophet is part of islam. the prophet and his male companions did it and Allah didn't forbid, therefore it is done.When it comes to female circumcison the prophet didn't forbid it or made it a sunnah. So if a woman wants it done, then she can have it done ONLY if its done the proper way.

Male circumcision is a tradition stemming form the Old Testament of the Bible. The Hadeeth (recorded oral tradition) says: "Circumcision is a "sunnah" (recommended custom) for men and a "makrumah" (noble action) for women". African tribal forms of FGM are not Islamic. "

An Islamic hadeeth says: "The Fitrah is five: circumcision, shaving the private parts, trimming the moustache..and plucking the armpits." So, do you pluck your armpits? Male circumcision is no more important than plucking your hair!!
If you insist that male circumcision is required in Islam, then aren't you implying that Allah is an imcompetent dsigner, and that you must CORRECT his creation?!

I am african and i know that we don't do it for relgionus reasons we do for culturally reasons. Like i said before. Following the sunnah of the prphet is importan. He circumcised himself.The quran says to follow what abraham taught and did. Abraham circumcised himself. So that means male muslims should circumcised themselves. For woman it is optional and is more of a culturally thing, but it is not forbidden or encouraged.

But you can take Abraham's FAITH as your guide without circumcision. God sees your HEART! You, an African, are NOT Abraham's descendant. The sunnah instructs to pluck out hairs, and you don't! Likewise, modern Moslems (having access to good sanitation) do not need circumcision. Just wash yourselves! Why did God create the foreskin?

I was wrong. After asking around I've found out that no, it isn't a must for males but it is strongly recommened for the reasons that i already gave you. Circumcison is a way of being hygenic, just like how shaving is a way of hygenic.

He said that because it was not mentioned in the Koran, and it is not one of the "five pillars" of Islam, circumcision is NOT mandatory for Moslem men. He too mentioned the hygiene argument. I disagree that hygiene is a good argument, since hygiene is a personal choice. No medical society recommends circumcision for health or hygiene benefits. There are health risks with cutting flesh.

There are fundamentalist Christian communities that are also quite eager to control and dominate women. This portion of the Christian population makes up a minority. It's the same thing with Islam-there are fundamentalist Muslims who do not believe women deserve equal status. The majority are not fundamentalist though.
