What is that skate technique called? Where you gain speed in small amount of time. Its like your running on the ice but skating at the same time. At the last bit with full speed
I learned this..i think this week, actually. I was playing around with t-stops and this came out. didn't think it was a actual trick.. I'm 12 (But i've only skated 3 years..) and this was pretty easy to learn.
emmm i live in scotland and im only 13 and im struggling to understand how to do the double spray is there any simpler was or more basic ways of learning this skill ( please message back)
As said in the video, you have to learn the "T-Stop" on one foot, and the other foot you must learn the "One Footed Stop". By practicing both those stops, you are practicing both your inside and outside edges. Both edges are used in the Double Spray, which is a more advanced stop than the beginner stops mentioned above.
@Prolite it naturally happened to me when I stop with my left foot - after i practiced stopping with the inside of my right foot, I'm going to learn how to do it when stopping right.
hey dan i had a little prob i was hoping you could help clear up. i recently got new tblades and i think the extra grip sometimes causes my inside leg to chatter
hav u got any suggestions on how i can reduce/eliminate this?
I had the same exact problem a number of years ago. It was caused by improper sharpening. You can reduce this by developing more strength in your leg and more muscle control, but that may not work. It could also be due to the-tblade chassis you have. When it happened to me, I didn't have t-blade but some kind of weird blade holder. Tightening your boots might help. Somehow the energy isn't being transferred directly to the ice. But probably has to do with the sharpening.
well i only get the problem sometimes so i dont think its down to the blade, as i can t-stop even with one foot and not have chatter. i might have needed to tighten my boot at the top though.
is mose of your weight on ur inside leg, or is it even?
I could be a number of things, which is why I provided the details above. For me, most of my weight is on my inside edge. It's possible that you need to develop more muscle control for your outside edge, especially if this is something that doesn't happen all the time, and you've ruled out the fact that it's not your boot that needs tightening.
Glad to help. You know, this problem could also be caused by ice that is too hard. When I did this tutorial, my skates were chattering during certain movements.
well keep in mind that the boots should provide anckle support but not so much that u cant rotate them a little.
so i dont really think it will happen, if u dont drop our weight enough ull prolly go over ur feet. in this position its better to fall backwards onto ur bum, than forwards into your head XD
yo! i dont get how to do the T stop, can you tell me a tutorial on how to do that, then i would probably be able to master the spray, anyway very nice video, helped me a lot 5/5
What's the difference between this stop and the hockey stop, I can master this, nowdays.. I try to one foot stop I can bearly stop like that but only this way I can, Idk why hahaha, this is better for spraying higher!
Yes the learning process of the two are different. Learn this trick based on the steps provided. It will probably be easier that way. And if not, let me know.
well i learned this in 5 min but i cant spray that high ... :P

This is a good tutorial, it's simpler, more compressed and easier to follow than your other slower tutorials.

Can you do this on figure skates?
ZoeZymonic 2 years ago
Yes, the Double Spray you can.
Prolite 2 years ago
@ZoeZymonic yes u can
plspresshere 1 year ago
i can do it but no ice comes up do i need to go farsta??
sk8srule7 2 years ago
You mean faster? Speed will help, but you need to tilt your stopping knee closer to the ice.
Prolite 2 years ago
is sharper blades or blunter blades better to do the spray i can ice skate well go backwards n stuff jus not sprsy explain how to plesase
brentfordboys 2 years ago
I have a tutorial on "how to stop". Also, duller blades make it easier to learn how to stop.
Prolite 2 years ago
@brentfordboys blunt blades are never good, need sharp blades.

thanks, i was thinkin the same thing. i got scratches on my arm from the ice where i tried some rolls and stuff.
ther good for falls but the ice was hard and rough. probably wht caused some of the chatter too.

aaron3102 2 years ago
Not sure. Never heard of it happening before.
Prolite 2 years ago
im clumsy , only been ice skating 8 times , i guess il be first to break my ankle then xD
becoz my ice skates stop me form going side to side in the boots , but like dont allowed my to bend my knee's much xD
aaron3102 2 years ago
Don't assume that unless you never play any sports ever. Start off at a slow speed. The human body is not that fragile.
Prolite 2 years ago
is when uv broke ur ankle like 5 times XD!!
aaron3102 2 years ago
Know the risks involved, know your body, and take it slow and easy.

ok cheers , i am imporving quite quick.. last time i went yesterday
