why don't you explain to us newbies what channels are used for....we all know what layers are used for, but what do channels do?

@ThyHoneyNut The channels seperate the different colour channels: for RGB colour, there is an R channel (red), a G channel (green) and a B channel (blue). It makes it easier to tint pictures and do a variety of other things to do with the colours. :)

What if you have completely black hair that has very little, if any, information in it?

I.e., washed out or blown out areas? How would you go about changing that to a light blonde, while somehow showing texture, and strands of hair, when there's practically no information there to begin with?

Calibrate your monitor. You keep selecting green, not yellow. ;)

You could have just changed your color fills to yellow instead of using the curves to remove green. ;)

Also, clipping layers is easier if you don't do it one at a time like you did. To save time, click the top layer you want to clip, then hold shift and select the bottom layer select the layers, THEN right click selected layers select "create clipping mask," and suddenly all the layers are clipped, instead of doing them one by one. You're welcome for saving you 30 seconds of your time. :D

While he's showing how to change hair color he's also informing about a bunch of good methods to develop for any other project you can do in photoshop. He helps create a state of mind so you apply proper practice and not pick up bad habits as you learn the program. This being said, there is a purpose to why the video is 22 minutes and you should appreciate it instead of complaining.
